Since it seems like the Sytrus won't get strong updates anymore, I'm looking for similar products...(obviously I'm looking for something at the same level or higher which also update constantly...)
any recommendations?

similar energies of sound, and some treasures in the soundsets. Rez 2 and Texture 1.2 from Ugo are -->very<-- affordable, also full of great sound. Have a great weekend with these synths

I prefer that cockos will keep the focus on Reaper and they do it very very well so far.pikadilly wrote:Why not ask Cockos to develope a synth for you majesty?
I look for a VSTi developer(s) that keep the focus on the synth and update it constantly just like updating a DAW...
the last thing that I want is that another dev who created a DAW will make a synth, sell it and leave it behind...

I guess you don't have anything better to do other than searching people to fight with in forums?GeorgeZ wrote:.

Kid? Tut tut my boy.... Reaper forum as well.
Fact of matter is, you do have some good ideas, and valid opinions, but then you have a cry if your suggestion isn't applied. That's when you loose most peoples attention/respect. (..and your validity).
No malice intended in this post, it's just how it is. If you get whiny, you get ignored.

Rhino2 is perfectly executed as it is. Some of us have expressed a wish for a few new features, but to be honest they are frivolous. Rhino is probably one of the most mature and complex soft synths with zero bugs, in my experience. Why would you need an update ? For its own sake ? Get Rhino and be happy making music without worrying about any updates.Reflected wrote:I've tried Rhino long time ago...maybe I will check it again to see if there are new updates...

However, an update is coming. This should see Rhino roam the wild expanses of Mac's operating system.

Sytrus hasn't been left behind. Its finished and as far as I know bug free. As well, a lot of what was learned in Sytrus' development lead to Ogun and a few other upcoming projects.Reflected wrote:I prefer that cockos will keep the focus on Reaper and they do it very very well so far.pikadilly wrote:Why not ask Cockos to develope a synth for you majesty?

What else do you need?

It has bugs in the preset loader but no-one has responded to my attempts to report this for months. The whole preset management system is poor anyway (esp if you don't have the Fruity version)datapark wrote:Sytrus hasn't been left behind. In contrast, I find Rhino's preset management brilliantly thought out.aMUSEd wrote: The whole preset management system is poor anyway (esp if you don't have the Fruity version)
There ought to be a standard developed for preset management for all soft synths. An online petition is in order, me thinks.

It's OK but I never use the library aspect - too much work (when you have hundreds of 3rd party presets) to drag everything over to categorise it when it really should be pre sorted but people making the presets.himalaya wrote:In contrast, I find Rhino's preset management brilliantly thought out.aMUSEd wrote: The whole preset management system is poor anyway (esp if you don't have the Fruity version)
Rhino sounds much nicer than Sytrus though and at least has a human sized gui instead of one designed for mice.
