That heatsink, switch plugs at the bottom, 7ender style knobs ...

I haven't got my glasses on tonight and i never really wear the damned things - but i think that one is a Dumble Overdrive Special. If it is then we are in for a treat i tell you....
Hi Dean,
totally agreed about Dumbles !
The pictured chassis is a Mk III for sure, note the mixed power tubes (EL34/6L6) typical of SimulClass amps, hopefully that option gets modeled.
One of the sweetest power amps of all time.
It's not a Mk II because of the "Rhythm 2" option, besides other details.
Admittedly though, my remark about "7ender style knobs" was only partially true, I was referring to the number rings which in fact are similar.
Cheers,
susiwong
I won't say no to a Mk III!!! either  or AT Mesa/Boogie due soon maybe ;)

Someone has GOT to do the Dumble OD Special though. Its like possibly the only amp that i like and have never and will never get a chance to even stand in the same room (not arena) as. It must be done

Cheers for the spots mate, your Nerdishness i am loving. Catch you soon man

Dean :D

Wow you guys are good! But still... it could be a boat! A tube boat with a lot of smooth waves, warm sounding motor... ;)

I was going to get excited about a possible evintide but then I remembered that the boat motor is evinrude

So, probably the one thing that would get me the most excited is a REAL GOOD LESLIE sim.... the ones available all BLO.... have to use sampled organs with LESLIE to even come close to that vintage sound (at least if one wants to sound realistic).

So, Squids said he was excited about something he knows about and I hope this is what he knows about.

The big question is; WHEN?

You'll have to wait 'till namm to get the announcement. Then there will be a time period after the announcment to around a march release (maybe april) if things go according to plan. I can only assume that the time period of wait is because of beta testing.

I'll spoil it for you. Amplitube iphone edition

Don't know which rectifiers those other two are, just that they are indeed mesa/rect something-or-others.

Susiwong will know..........:hihi:

I would like to think it is a triple rectifier, although if they are doing an update it might be the dual rect from AT Metal ot AT 2. If they can do any amp along the quality lines of the Fender series I think I would be just as thrilled. But I hope they put some kind of Matchless/Badcat/Laney type amp in there as well. I don't think they could go wrong with a David Gilmour or Jimmy Page edition either, gauging from the amp and effect combination. With the innovative approach and quality they did with Fender, they should just go all out and do an AT 3. Not like any other ampsim company such as Line 6 or anyone else has come close in terms of boasting real quality emulations. Sure there has been some good amp sim packages, but most of the quality life like emulations have come from freeware developers lately (LePou and Nick Crow for example) and the people creating really good cab IRs. Some ampsims sound good with a variety of guitars/pickups and some don't, so they have to get this right as well too or at least tell us, this will only sound good with humbuckers or single coils or possibly have a button to choose.

It's on my list :tu: I know someone (can't remember if it was peter or andrew) from IK mentioned how much they liked the badcat sound.....hoping!

I'm convinced this is AT3, and I'm definitely excited about this but I can't help but think, "is this going to be another IK product with a crossgrade but no upgrade?"

I hope not. Especially with the really good deals IK always ends up offering. I'd love to hop right in on this and be an early adopter, but unless the deal is sweet up front I'll just wait it out until IK offers another sweet promotion.

No offense to IK, but I really think this would be a perfect time to think about upgrade pricing vs. the more generic (arguably less generous) crossgrade route. But if I could get whatever this is with Stealthpedal at a good price, I might have to jump in...

Anyway, back to topic, I'm guessing it's the Dual Rectifier. Right now we've got quite the good lineup of amps and effects. On top of the existing Amplitube line, this will be a great addition to X-Gear.

I don't think Amplitube has that problem. I've got a variety of guitars/pick-ups (Les Paul Classic 57's Plus, Duncan Antiquity II Jazzmaster, Dimarzio Area Strat Pickups, Dimarzio Area-T Tele Pickups) and Amplitube sounds great with all of them. The only thing I need to do is occasionally adjust the input trim in Amplitube (making sure I've got plenty of headroom on the hardware side). Aside from that, the Amplitube amps seem to respond just as well as actual amps.

For instance, if I'm playing my Fender Twin Amp and set it to sound good with my Tele, it might sound dark and muddy with my Les Paul's neck pick-up. If I set it up to sound good on the Les Paul, it might be too bright with too low gain on the Tele, etc. In this regard, Amplitube is very much like a real amp IMO. It's all about tweaking the amp's settings to the guitar. Pick-ups, wood, body-type, strings, etc all come into play. There's no one majic bullet. And that's before you start even talking about the player's fingers...
