Kinda rude, isn't it ?hibidy wrote:I was going to get excited about a possible evintide but then I remembered that the boat motor is evinrudeSquids wrote:Wow you guys are good! But still... it could be a boat! A tube boat with a lot of smooth waves, warm sounding motor...
Boats, motors - Yamaha ? They do about everything, probably toilet paper, too ...
Still that white cab puzzles me - haven't found anything with such a narrow frame around the front grill yet, and with that type of grill cloth.
The Yamaha RA200/RA100 Leslies are close (although solid state), some early 60s AC15s are close, both have a slightly wider frame but came in a wide variety of cab designs so they are still not completely ruled out.
Here's hoping for another shot of this one ...
And some of the solid state gear is still not identified.
Kinda hard unless you owned that specific device or are a repair man.
Identify a movie star by an X-ray of his kidneys, well, the liver might give you some clues at least.
Good fun, IK !
And not that it would matter much as the gear list looks great so far regardless of name, but it looks like hibidy hit the nail on the head with AT3.
IK have achieved a great level of realism by now as far as amps go, hopefully this time the cab section will get some more loving attention, there's the biggest chance for improvement right now, imho, ymmv.
Cheers,

I think this is good fun, even for me. I haven't seen most of these pics either, I'd have to fund a trip to Italy to do so. Luckily I can identify a bunch of it, to retain some street cred... but some is admittedly a little difficult. I guess we won't make it easy to pick one of these up free

You need to go to Modena to IK Head Quarters one way or another. One of the things, as you know, about IK's techniques that differs from many other modeling companies is that there is more than just the science involved in theory but the actual A/B until some of the voodoo magic and measurement of behavior is studied and compared. Now, to do that you really need quite a COLLECTION! So, with THAT degree of commitment can you imagine what sort of hardware amp and stomp box collection is there? It is ridiculous. While at SR's studio we have a Noah's Arc of keyboards and instruments we've sampled, IK's studio in Italy has a freaking MUSEUM of amazing guitar gear. You have to see it to believe.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I think this is good fun, even for me. I haven't seen most of these pics either, I'd have to fund a trip to Italy to do so. In most software company's offices you see a bunch of desks with computers and a few pieces of gear lying around. But nothing like this. Really, it starts with having the real thing in your hands and picking it apart to understand how it plays, reacts etc. as much as the theory and math.

Oops, you didn't insinuate that.
I meant the stuff Richard Dawson's character was always making IIRC.
In fact I was thinking about Albert Lee's backing band
That raises another shocking question, in combination with the pic you posted in the other thread :
Dawson > DAW son > small DAW > iPhone - say it ain't true
But then, a realistic Orange cab or Leslie would be a bit heavy in your shirt pocket.
Ever read Eco's "Foucault's Pendulum" ?
We're drifting in that direction ...
And this was no hidden gear guess.
Good night,
