Seeing as I seem to be headed towards buying Albino and seem to be having no luck in the Marketplace, I may as well ask - are there likely to be any special Christmas/New Year offers this year from Linplug?
Should I hold off on purchasing?

Be patient. Albino is fantastic and many who have bought it want to keep it (I own it and all the LinPlug soundsets) but it regularly comes on the market place.
As to the Xmas offer, Albino 3 is currently reduced to $179 on the LinPlug website (as opposed to $229, I think)

I sold mine for example (in the times Linplug went syncrosoft, quite some time ago now ). Normally I bought all first hand from Linplug, as they make only outstandingly great vstis (for example, I absolutely love CronoX). So if you can afford I'd buy it from Linplug , they really deserve it - otherwise like already said, it's on marketplace only rarely, but surely not "never".

Last Christmas LinPlug offered a 3x2 deal or something similar, I don't remember exactly (My computer was broken at the time and I was conecting to internet with.....a Nintendo DS!, so I couldn't join).
I would wait a week or so.
