In reference to SS drums, I like 'em all. Not too long ago I needed to do some nu metal sounding cues. I would have liked to have had SS drums for that (I didn't), but overall (Warning, I'm going to gush again), I LOVE OWDs! I know, I'm going overboard here, but I really do feel that way. The detail is amazing!
Since this is the top of the page, and we haven't heard from bronxsound, here is the link: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... ode=USDKVR
We are right now at 305. Come on 400!

Yeah... I was just listening to the OWD demos currently available and there are some fantastic sounding drums in there. I'm really looking forward to working with them.Reverend Rhythm wrote:(Warning, I'm going to gush again), I LOVE OWDs! I know, I'm going overboard here, but I really do feel that way. Not sure but if you email allen (at) esoundz (dot) com he'll look into it and make sure it's right. No worries.pcaseiro wrote:It seems as though my order has been charged on $104.94 and not $99 as advertised. Am i seeing it wrong Squids?

Not everyone knows what a great musician you are. But some of us do. Clearly you get it and I think it is GREAT that you and others that appreciate the benefits of diverse sample collections. When you're composing, producing, exploring musical ideas, jamming or even just having fun with it the convenience of loading up a simulation of an instrument miked up in a nice studio... such fantastic options to have in your set up! Sometimes you only fully realize that when you have it and appreciate it in context of making music. I know for myself I've enjoyed something 100X more when I realized that it was JUST THE THING for a certain track. In our case I think "Man, I am so glad we went to the trouble to make this!" because I make a lot of sounds I would want to use in music production and composition. But, I also feel the same way about buying a CP70 again. I think "Man, I am so glad I bothered to get this big heavy-ass clunky keyboard again!"... and the reasons are it's inspiring to play. The value I place on that is off the charts.Reverend Rhythm wrote:In reference to SS drums, I like 'em all. Not too long ago I needed to do some nu metal sounding cues. Thanks for the compliment Squids! In context of what you said, DM and OWD fit the mix for me. I like the way they "sit" in the mix. And the detail helps so much!
I don't have room for a CP70. I haven't even taken my Rhodes out of the Closet for several years. But I've got room for another HD! So sample that CP70!

We're doing some unbelievable pianos for Infinite Player. I've got a few pianos Ken Scott helped us record using techniques he used with The Beatles, Elton John and Supertramp! Sadly the Beckstein at Trident studios is no longer around though. But we recorded Steinways and all sorts of others. Plus now we have a Rhodes MK5 which sounds great (needs a little work before we sample it) and of course you saw the Baldwin Electric Harpsichord which I sampled years ago and LOST the samples!!!! So this is justice... I love that thing.
Anyway, Infinite Player is for more than just drums. It IS for collection virtual reality instruments. Ideal for having a hard drive next to you while your Rhodes is in the closet (even though I recommend dusting off the Rhodes and running it through a Small Stone for the magical swirly grit factor if you get a chance).

When will this Inifite piano stuff be available? (p.s. I could use a 9 foot Baldwin)

That is great news, since I still feel I am lacking when it comes to having a virtual piano that I absolutely love.Squids wrote:We're doing some unbelievable pianos for Infinite Player. I've got a few pianos Ken Scott helped us record using techniques he used with The Beatles...
There are many Sonic Reality and IK Multimedia pianos which I love the tone and and room sound of, but find them sadly disappointing in the number of notes which were sampled and velocity layers. There are numerous among them, which I would love to see revisited with more samples.
But these new pianos which you are working on sound promising. Please make sure you don't make the sample sets too small... but then neither should they be too big. A fine balance, I know.

I think you might like this one. 93 keys sampled chromatically at 10 velocities full duration... and that's not even the amazing part about it! There's another aspect about it that is something no one has ever done before. I still can't believe we pulled it off. More news in 2010.

You didn't actually sample any pianos in Studio 2, did you? That would be cool.
I just got an e-mail from NI announcing a partnership between them and Abbey Road. I wonder what they have up their sleeve?
All of these exciting products have definitely got me salivating. Any idea when some of these pianos will become available? I am also especially interested in the uprights! Are you thinking of selling them individually, or as part of a new piano collection?

From GS: Answering a question about whether there will be any upgrade to EpiK DrumS A Ken Scott Collection from this Group Buy...
Every once in a while there's a good moment to go overboard and this is one of them... YES there will be a token discount coupon even for EpiK DrumS A Ken Scott Collection. However, I should point out that it won't be as large as the discounts on Drum Masters 2 Signature Kits Vol. 1 and 2 or Ocean Way Drums. The reason is, the upgrade discount for something like Drum Masters Signature Kits considers the crossover material that is in both and the discount compensates for that so you are in essence only paying for the new material you didn't get in the Group Buy. In the case of EpiK DrumS there's over 120 gigabytes of material you definitely do NOT have from this group buy... so getting any discount is purely just an opportune moment to introduce you to what's there and it is quite a whole beast all its own (but shares the same script features and can be used with other Drum Masters kit pieces since it has the same mapping and software features... the samples being what is different).
If you go here and follow the link to the videos you can see more about it but that is just scratching the surface. There is a reason why it's called epic (well, EpiK I should say... the K and S are for Ken Scott... and it is just the first of a few Ken Scott Collections that are planned for other sounds... including a really nice Beatlesque string section but I will have to talk about all that at a later date). Here's the link: Sonic Reality's EpiK DrumS - A Ken Scott Collection www.epikdrums.com
