Are the bits of gear that have already been modelled in AT, new software models here? For instance, I hope the AC30 is being done over, but is the Univibe? The latter seemed pretty spot on to begin with. Or is this more of a "best of" collection with some new stuff where the Univibe is the same as in JHE?

Good questions !Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Are the bits of gear that have already been modelled in AT, new software models here? For instance, I hope the AC30 is being done over, but is the Univibe? Pure speculation, but the SuperLead in ATJH is not coupled with a Sennheiser 421, which might hint at a new emulation, don't know ...
In any case I'd love to see the mixable inputs for this type of amps (also including Bassman and Vox) instead of a built-in spring reverb that's not historically correct anyway.
And then, I don't recall having a Royer Ribbon (an industry standard) or a TLM170 in any previous AT.
All in all, what I'm hoping for more than anything else is an updated cab/mic section that rivals or even beats GR4 - not going by manufacturer name but sound quality and useability instead.
An example list could look similar to this, ymmv:
- 112 open Jensen
- 112 open EV
- 112 Thiele EV
- 410 open Jensen
- 212 open Blue Bulldog
- 212 open Jensen
- 212 open D120
- 412 closed Greenback
- 412 closed V30
- 412 closed T70/75
That should cover most classic tones imho.
Again, that would be my personal wishlist, ymmv.
Cheers,
susiwong

Can we at least assume the official announcement will be Winter NAMM?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Maybe. Should I give you a chance to edit and add a year to that before I answer?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Can we at least assume the official announcement will be Winter NAMM?

Nope, though I hope there is a a fast/slow switch this time as opposed to that speed knob (with of course speed settings for fast/slow) as that was always one of the hard aspects to control. I did however like the sound of the leslie.
Ha, I wish IK would jump on the B3 emu market!

If someone could only make a REALLY accurate model of this... that to me would be EXTREMELY cool!
I used to own the Beach Boys B3 with Leslie 122. It was all painted white. I sold it to a band called "Gorky Park" from Moscow (they were in LA at the time). I wish I kept it though. At least we have a 147 in the studio now though and I have a pre-amp pedal for it. But to have that emulated in software would be just incredible! Don't you think?
I'm not saying that's what this is but... just the fact that this image is posted is a clue to something! From a company that "models everything", seeing that on IK's Facebook - even though there is no official announcement - sure is encouraging!!!!
Oh yeah. Bring on the vintage.
Of course it could be a hardware guitar amp with a rotary speaker and USB on it too. You just never know and that's why I like to tease a little. All in good fun of course!

Well, if that Leslie is based on impulse responses, it may not be THAT good...
I hope to be wrong of course.
I say that because of the two mics, instead of the hand of a guy taking measurements...

Some joker kept turning it on high just when he went in to measure and those hands are now all bruised up.K-Slash wrote: I say that because of the two mics, instead of the hand of a guy taking measurements...

Why would anyone use a Leslie on a keyboard? Everyone knows they sound better on guitars than organs.Squids wrote:Ohhhhhhh I like THIS picture a LOT!!!!! Check out this one if you follow IK's Facebook. A little teasing going on! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1 ... 7617160146
