Hello my friends

I need your help to find free literature about guitar scales exercises. I would like to learn how to play them in a methodic way.
Because I also want to improve my music reading skills, I'd prefer to have it in staffs rather then tablature.

Please post your links :)

Thanks

There are dozens of scale books in staff notation, or both staff and tab.
The one I use most often is "The Gig Bag Book of Scales."

Personally, I like to construct basic chord progressions on Acid and loop them - either bass and drum, or bass, drum, and chord. I then play my guitar over it with my scale book out. That way I learn scales and develop timing.

As Rex said, timing is CRITICAL. If you have a drum machine sequencer, set up a basic beat and play the scales with the beat. Can't keep the beat? SLOW IT DOWN? I don't care if you have to play one note every two seconds, if that's what it takes. The point is to learn muscle memory. You'll get there. When the tempo is no longer a challenge, increase it, but ONLY to the point where it's as fast as you can play ACCURATELY.

Try OLGA, I used to go there long time ago.

I got "The Gig Bag Book of Scales", sugested by Melodious Rex.
It has all that I wanted, scales in Staff notation, tablature, fingering nºs, etc.

OLGA was shut down.

Thanks for the replies

Justin Sandercoe has some good stuff. I especially like his YouTube videos.

I'd recommend everyone check out the Lick Library vids, especially Fretboard Navigator. And also, see if you can find the 3 Fretboard Logic books and 2 vids - they're excellent!!

Also, use the CAGED System :)
