I'm with Darkstar on this... It's pretty likely that everyone's individual needs are quite different. Some of us may find ourselves frequently searching for that one kit piece that's just right, while others might just seek a wider variety of sounds in general. Depth versus breadth, and it would of course depend on what libs you already have to play with.
If there's any way to accommodate both--perhaps with many smaller libraries that are also grouped into various library bundles for some bulk savings--this would probably be best for the customer and for your sales. I don't know, it might clutter up your "store" a bit, though...

Until bronxsound shows up, here is the link fir the GB: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... ode=USDKVR
We are at 371 right now. To 400 and beyond!
Well, since bronxsound showed up right below, I'll give my opinion about kit pieces. I am not a drummer, so I don't hear different kit pieces that well. I can hear differences, but I can't tell you what they are. But I do hear spaces and detail. So I'm going to want cymbals that I like. I'm not going to need a lot of variety.

Yes, but some people won't join if there isn't a playable demo that we can actually test. I was considering the trial kit as more geared toward people haven't joined than those who already have.blueman wrote:I think it's a bad idea frankly. It ends up being a distraction. It's a nice gesture and I get where you're coming from but... I believe we would be better served seeing tutorial videos that demonstrate the new features and how to use them as well as how GREAT the kits sound.Squids wrote:
By the way, seeing Bob freak out kind of made me pause on throwing a trial experiment out on everybody.![]()
Create excitement and anticipation. Make us wait until it's right. It's only another two weeks anyway!
Just my opinion fwiw...

But then almost 400 have joined without a playable demo. I don't think though one kit will cause problems for some either. My problem manifested from the many kits and grooves. I got some of the stuff but not all of it so that most likely wouldn't apply to only 1 kit. 1 kit is either there or not.sockofgold wrote: Yes, but some people won't join if there isn't a playable demo that we can actually test. If I stayed with KP2 things were OK, it's when I went to KP4 that trouble began and installing and reinstalling created even more problems I'm 99% sure. Most normal people don't try and fix somethings that not broke. But I'm the type if something new comes along I feel obsessed in going for the new piece. In this case KP2 to KP4 thinking this GB uses KP3.5/4. I think most newbies would have more common sense than meSquids wrote:I am still thinking about how to do this fun early trial with the OWD Kit 10m for those that are anxious to mess around with the new features of this GB. I just want to make sure it will go smooth even for people who never tried Kontakt before. So either today or tomorrow (Sun or Mon) we'll see if we can find the best way to do this. I may do some more tutorial type posts to help walk you through it too.
It may very well be isolated to him and his set up and not be relevant to anyone else.
I know there are more newbies on this GB than usual so we'll all try to help as much as we can so everyone can enjoy it. Thanks.

Squids mentioned something a few pages back. I think he was trying to start something limited this week. I'll see if I can find it.thenumber23 wrote:I noticed I was charged for this GB a few days ago - are we able to start downloading the goods?

The full download is promised on or before December 30, but Squids wrote this:
esoundz name:Squids wrote:Hmmm... we might be able to release the Infinite Player and bonus multitrack kit, EZ Player pro (the bonuses for hitting 300) a little early like beginning of next week. That way you could get started with both this kit not running in demo mode and also the bonus kits... but before I say that we can do that officially let me check with the guys and make sure that's okay to do without it becoming a mess for them. Just so you know, I am always here talking to you all on the forum and doing things for you and then often I get grumbles from Allen and the team because they're the ones who have to manage it on the back end... but they really don't mind and know that we put the customer first. Whatever it takes on our end it takes. We just want to be able to keep track of it and do it in an organized way though is all. A challenge for a custom product that changes over the course of the month but it can be done and we've done a lot of these group buys before so... let's see. The goal is to make you all happy!

Finding the perfect hi-hat for a track is usually more difficult than finding cymbals for embellishment, so if given the choice between one or the other I would prefer to have more hi-hats.Squids wrote:My question to you is, when it comes to cymbals, do you think you'd prefer to have a collection of JUST tons of rides or just tons of hats or crashes? Or would you prefer to have a title of more cymbals which includes all three? Or would you like hats as a separate volume but rides and crashes together? Don't worry it doesn't affect the amount of material - let's say you'd get roughly the same a mount of instruments per volume either way - just a concentration of more of a particular thing.
But of course I want all those cymbals as well! If you are going to mix the rides with the crashes, maybe you could put crashes on the black keys and rides on the white, so that it is easier to audition the material... although it probably doesn't matter that much since a softly played crash can sound just like a ride.

So quiet tonight. Everybody must be busy watching the Survivor Finale.
I'm actually doing audio demos of all my SampleTank, Sonik Synth, Studiophonik and numerous other drum kits in my collections... just a few seconds of any kit piece that stands out so that I will be able to easily find the perfect tom set or the perfect snare sound if any of the multitude of new sounds coming my way are not right for the job.
I realized that I haven't been going to these older drum kits anymore, even though there is some really useful material in there. And so I decided to do this so that I can still find those kit pieces without searching through many of the kits which don't compare to the more sophisticated kits that are now taking over my collection.
A lotta work, but I try to save it for moments when I am less inclined to do creative stuff.
I still hope Squids is going to prepare audio demos of these current GB kits for easy reference.
