OK so! I have another Host I could try it in but at the end of the day, Ableton is my default. As I seem to be the only one with this problem (?) I'll pass. Thanks for testing!

Yeah, I hear a pop when it come on too. Must have modeled the actual surge from the pedal being clicked on
I guess I don't mind it too much but if it can be helped, it makes sense to tame it somewhat
I really hope you have a go at the Butler Tube Driver. I think you've really got something here...

Thing is analogue pedals have several hi passing steps very low through the circuit to avoid DC offset. All those FX do too, as it play a part in tone when disortion comes.
Do you get this with rectifuzz?
Rectifuzz has an eveloppe to avoid click on loading, because it has a pretty extreme behaviour
I could add it to all the FXs.
We are talking about a snap on loading right? Not when tweaking the on off switch?

Contrats Mokafix! Great sounding plugs that look great too! Who doesn't need a little more fuzz in their life?

I was playing on Metal Clone all last night. It sounds great into a clean amp sim or even just a cabinet sim/IR. It seems more beefy and less thin, and not as fizzy as the original pedal. It doesn't sound like an exact emulation, but it is still good for a distortion/overdrive none the less. The original has this biting fizzy harshness in the treble area, which does not always sound pleasant, but cuts through a dense mix. I did not like the original pedal so much because of this, but this plugin is good for all around distortion, with good tone shaping controls before it hits the amp . It would probably work well on lots of other sources besides guitar due to this.

Thanks guys.
That interesting.
I am not sure many instrument can get out of the metal clone safe and sound.
Synthesizers, especially monophonic stuff probably.
But it sure has a sound of its own.
The "mid" EQ controls are especilly interesting by letting you either cut or boost the mid frequency.

I get a crack when I insert one of the pedals in EnergyXT.
The best thing is to put a brickwall limiter and engage it so the crack isn't so loud.
Tis better than coffee for getting the heart racing though

I'd like to know so that I add an enveloppe to each effect. It's a good way to avoid clicks on loading. I think revalver does that too.

Some amp sims output loud pops when selecting certain amp models.
I'm sure Revalver did that. The best way to avoid the pops is to use a limiter on the master output.
I'll have to wait until I get home to verify which of the pedals caused the pops, but from memory most of them did.
Still, they sound amazing and they breathe life into synth leads like no other FX does

Ok, I'd really like to know if you get it with rectifuzz too (already has an enveloppe that tames the snap), and also with EZ-Driver (has no self-bias).
My bet being you can see a slight move on VU meters with rectifuzz, but no audible noise, and nothing with EZ-Driver.
So if someone can simply confirm that, then I can do something.

Congrats for those really nice VSTs !
It's just so much better to have single VSTs instead of those all in one things like guitar rig and the like.
Here is what i get in Usine :
Noamp : ok, very small pop.
Rectifuzz : ok, small burst of noise.
Brass buster : loud pop
Metal CLone : loud pop
Muffin Rider : loud pop
Kung Fuzz 68 : ok
Companero : ok
EZ driver : ok
I can't help thinking a cleaner diode overdrive (OD-1, MT-10, tubesceamer, Timmy) kind of thing would surely be a nice addition to the distortion bundle so that it can cover most grounds.
Also maybe the 68 fuzz can be further developped with feedback loops and stuff just like analog DIY fuzzes (fuzz factory, skyripper, truly beautiful disaster...).

yep, that's what I had in mind.farfadetfarfelu wrote:Congrats for those really nice VSTs !

Also I wanted to start from scratch for each effect to make sure they all have a specific sound.
When you have a modular environment à la XT i guess it's pretty fun to make your setup like you would on your floor.
Thanks for that.farfadetfarfelu wrote:Noamp : ok, very small pop.

I'll try and add some enveloppes. It will set an attack on load and also on on/off switch just to make sure there are as little pop as possible.
Well I guess there are candidates for a pack #2farfadetfarfelu wrote:I can't help thinking a cleaner diode overdrive (OD-1, MT-10, tubesceamer, Timmy) kind of thing would surely be a nice addition to the distortion bundle so that it can cover most grounds.

I'll pick up the ideas submitted on this thread here and there and put them on my list. Tubescreamer has been covered so many times though, it won't be a priority I think.
Kung Fuzz already includes some feedback modelling (no feedback = no self biasing). Actually they all do in various ways.

Ok, here is a metal clone version with a fader to avoid the click.
Instead of switching it crossfades between wet and dry.
Metal-Clone.rar
So try if you can try it and tell me if this solution works for you, I'll apply it to the whole series.
I chose to make a crossfade instead of just a fade from silence, so that when you drop the plugin in your chain, it arrives in the mix without a click and without producing a sound drop.
