OK, even though this is a KVR forum (where the critics tend to be vocal), I like to live dangerously so I have one more stupid question. :) (Actually, to be fair, this thread has been very congenial)

So here is my stupid question: Two of the most distinctive drum kit sounds, at least to my ears, are those of the late, great Cozy Powell and Simon Phillips' kit (circa Mike Oldfield's Crises album). Are there any planned or available Drum Masters 2 Signature kits that get close to these?

(At least such posts bump the topic to the top of the Latest Posts list :) )

I notice we've almost broken 400 too! 391! Woohoo!

I couldn't agree more. Simon Phillips has great sounding drums. His bassdrum sounds special, his toms is tuned pretty high and the snare has a nice thud to it...and then we have his Octobans and razor sharp cymbals!

(Don't mind the song, tune, thing or whatever he plays to in the provided link. Just listen to the drums and his incredible musicality. While playing like that you could get away with wearing just about anything :) )

I've got some Secret Santa ePointz, but no notification email.

So whoever you are, thank you for this present :) :tu:
I purchased OWD Silver yesterday (with that great coupon) and referred to you, because I appreciate those fancy plots you're doing in all those group buys :D . I hope you find something nice use the epointz.

Hey all,

I just wanted to point out that Amazon mp3 (US) is selling Dark Side of the Moon for $1.99 - just today.

and... Squids keeps mentioning new sounds for the Infinite Player. Have you priced it? Go ahead: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=2459

Well, Infinite Player is included in the group buy. You get the plug-in with the group buy. It's amazing how much you get with this group buy! I think Squids uses the term "Value Added." Well I call it crazy good! You know why they call him Crazy Squids? Cause his deals are crazy!

More drum porn. Listen to this:

You can hear Simon Phillip's kit without any backing track. See what I mean?

That sounds like that Crazy Eddie guy from New York.

By the way, we sampled a very authentic set of Floyd drum sounds as well for the Infinite Player and we did on the same console used on Dark Side of the Moon... and with the same engineer. ;)

As far as Cozy Powell - I love his sound. Simon Phillips... I think we may do a session with him next year. What a talented guy. I have a cool album he did with Jon Anderson called "Animation". Some great drumming on that too... and with The Who and PT's White City.

I'm not finding this. I registered at esoundz & downloadablesoundz when I joined the GB, but I never got a confirmation email for registering at sonicreality.com.
It's there. Just login to www.sonicreality.com and go into the support section.

If you have trouble with your account you can email support (at) sonicreality (dot) com.

The poetry of life. Amazing how that happens. Balance happens all the time and many times we don't even realize it. But then sometimes it happens in the same day. Extreme contrast.

Thanks for sharing about that Zeddster.

I would say it's Weeding Crashers!

"Are they built for speed or comfort, speed or comfort?" :)

Squids, I don't feel the high five...where is it?
I want it written in my esoundz account. "No epointz, BUT a Virtual high five!"
You get both the high five and 5 epointz just for adding the speed or comfort. What a riculous line! I love it. Speed or comfort? I am not even sure what that means. I wonder if he just improved that one.

A good friend of mine got to work with those guys. He said they were awesome. He did the soundtrack to the movie "Made". His name is Lyle Workman. Actually, he did a lot of great comedy soundtracks like 40 Year Old Virgin and a bunch of other Judd Apatow (or however you spell it) films. I used to do some ghost scoring with him when I was in LA... but, not the GOOD stuff he ended up doing later on. But talk about stories. If you guys like my stories guys like Lyle have AMAZING stories. Some are absolutely hilarious and some are just impressive. He toured with Sting for example. They did a whole album of stuff that was sort of Police-like and it was never released. So that was interesting. Then on the funny side... well, I have some Lyle stories I really can't tell but when I get more into screenwriting I think I might have to base a few scenes on him. There's on in particular that is VIVID and hilarious. He wouldn't want me telling it though. Good guy. Really talented musician.

Willie Dixon:-
Some folks are built like this
Some folks are built like that
But the way I'm built
Now, don't you call me fat

'Cause I'm-a built for comfort
I ain't a-built for speed
But I got ev'rything
A-that a good girl need

Some folks they rip and run
Some folks don't believe in sign
But you get me, babe
You got to take your time

'Cause I'm-a built for comfort
I ain't a-built for speed
And I got ev'rything
A-that a good girl need

(sax & instrumental)

Now, don't you call me fat
Because you know I'm fine
You get me, baby
You've got to take your time

'Cause I'm-a built for comfort
I ain't a-built for speed
And I got ev'rything
A-that a good girl needs

(piano, bass & instrumental)

Well, I ain't got the diamonds
And I ain't got gold
But I do have a love
To satisfy your soul

'Cause I'm built for comfort
I ain't a-built for speed
And I got ev'rything
A-that any little good girl needs.

(instrumental to end fade)

Thanks! That's what I call speed and comfort :D

Keep those Squids stories coming! The stories alone is worth more than the price for this group buy.
