Congratulations to everyone on going over 400!
Now we're on to 500. Squids mentioned on gearslutz forum that he will add another multitrack kit when we go over 500. Has he mentioned anything else... as if that isn't enough!
So this is turning into a mother lode of drum kits (and MIDI loops, etc.) for $99! What are we up to now? 28... 29 kits? Plus a snare and a bunch of kontakt presets combining the kits? It's overwhelming!

We haven't talked much about the coupons that you get by buying into the group buy. Here is a Squids post from December 16th. I edited it slightly, because he talks about it going live later that day.
Squids wrote:Okay I have the coupon info part 1 which includes what you can use it on for OWD and EpiK DrumS. The Drum Masters 2 Coupons will come a little later and run through the end of February (so two weeks longer if that helps).
Important note about coupons: They cannot be used at the same time as any other promo or discount system such as epointz, membership discounts... if you have epointz and use the coupon the epointz will stay in your account to be used on something else (you can still earn more epointz with a referral though). Your membership discount is bypassed and it is the amount below taken off the price you'd see if you weren't logged in (to avoid confusion, that's all you have to do to see). So it is off "street price" or "base price" which is what we call it. However, that means it is even MORE of a discount off the MSRP than the street price already is in the first place... bottom line is that it equates to some really nice discounts for everybody in the group buy.
----------------
Pre-requirements to use these coupons: Purchase of regular Ultimate Studio Drums GB or the Paypal Version
What you can use the coupon codes on for special discounts only for those that joined this group buy. They will expire February 15th, 2010:

---------
Part 2 will include Drum Masters 2 coupons coming later. The product will go on pre-order starting next week. Availability of EpiK DrumS HD and Drum Masters 2 range will be in January (or possibly sooner but not later).

A little Squids Update. I'm traveling today so I won't be around until later. I am still working on the additional audio demos but hope to have that ready soon. I am making them something you can have the mp3s of if you joined the group buy so you can use them for reference as some people have requested (good idea, I might start using that system myself for my own music because it's a time saver... even though I usually sort of memorize the sounds I like the most for different things).
I talked to Steven Slate and we're going to carry his products on esoundz in a couple of weeks with a special crossgrade discount coupon for you in case you're looking for more Kontakt drum sounds that have a different flavor. I've talked about some of the differences between OWD, DM and SSD so you can read that over and decide which areas you'd like to crossgrade to with all of these killer coupons you'll be able to get (almost worth joining the Group Buy JUST for the coupons huh?).
I am not sure the videos will happen in time because I will be out of the office and can't supervise this... and I normally would. But I am having some of the SR guys try to do it anyway even just so you can see something in V-Drum action. I can do some iMap videos from where I will be (in a far away land). Someone got me this little Kodak HD video gadget so I am going to mess around with that and see! Should be fun. I will get the thorough tutorials done AND this trial kit for you guys this week still - it might be Friday I think. There were a few minor changes we made (just how things were named, nothing major) in the script so I have to add that in plus we're doing a CUSTOM map to bring in those extra chokes, swells or bells on crashes and things outside of the regular script modes (the misc things a kit may have use a special "custom only" script designed to just map it anywhere you want).
So, that's the latest. Congratulations on breaking 400. I've hinted at what will be included at 500 but tomorrow - as long as I can get on line (fingers crossed) - I will reveal ALL of the prizes if you can break the 500 barrier. One of them is yet ANOTHER Multitrack kit from the Drum Masters Series. We might do something special for the impulses and they MAY be compatible with other IR software but that's not what they were made for so I can't guarantee that. More midi grooves but also a surprise.
I will also reveal the mystery artist snare by this weekend. But, it will either be Steve Gadd, Stewart Copeland, Dennis Chambers or Dave Weckl's signature snares they've done with Yamaha, Tama, Pearl or Yamaha (respectively). If you wanted all 4 of those then don't worry. These are some of the things you'll find in the full DM Signature Kits Vol. 2 which you will get a coupon worth the ENTIRE price of the group buy to save off of an upgrade to the full Vol. 1 and/or Vol. 1 of this series... you really can't lose with this.
One last thing. People have asked if they can have a discount off of Neil Peart and some of these other future libraries coming for the Infinite Player as well. Let me put it to you this way. If you've participated in an Infinite Player or Drum Masters Group Buy we're always going to be thinking of ways of both giving you back and enticing you to add to your set up. These group buys are meant to be easy affordable introductions to the world of Sonic Reality samples. Once you're there we have an extensive range of sounds both now and forthcoming to dig into to meet your creative needs and... well even for the sheer fun of it. Any idea how much fun it is to play a digital replica of Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio or Billy Cobham's monster kits? All of this stuff is like a virtual Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp in your computer. Well, rock, jazz, R&B... but you get my point.
Okay, so, I will talk to you all hopefully later tonight or tomorrow. Feel free to ask more questions. I will answer as soon as I am back on line.

For those joining this GB who own the IP plug-in already...
Is the optional "jazz" kit multi-track or, stereo only?
Thanks,
Rich

What this means is, Squids shows up, stirs the pot, and runs off to some far away land. Probably having Christmas at Sting's French mansion.Squids wrote:A little Squids Update.
