I tried T-Racks Brickwall Limiter saturation algorithms 1-3 for the clip. It's so (amazingly) close to the sound of Decapitator that it's not worth the extra money.

Can you post the examples?

This is something I tweaked fast, but if Decapitator is any good it's easy to spot T-Racks Brickwall Limiter out of the 4 clips.

Of course it's easy, it's the 3rd one.

We ear more "character", it's a little brighter too, subtle more saturation.

But the 3 others T-RackS Brickwall Limiter are VERY GOOD too.

I would say that the Sat 1, Sat 2, and Sat 3 are my favourites modes with the IK limiter. They enhance the final mix in a nice way, to give just a little, subtle character that's really pleasant.

The Decapitator of course is more the kind of saturation plugin that would be used more on tracks and busses during the mix, also maybe a LITTLE on the master, but rarely in my view and use.

It's being used in the fashion "HELL YEAH YOU HEAR ME" on my side hehe. Not abusing it tough, but using it as a real colouring tool to shape the tone and give warmth.

The Sat modes of the le limiter being used on the final mix to add the last bit of polish to an already well-done mix.

Has it been said if this is going to be included in the bundle yet? I'm thinking about purchasing the bundle but I don't want to find out later that I could have basically got the Decapitator included with it later on...

It's 2 and 4, but your examples are too distorted. With dry/wet at 50% the result is much better for such a mix (unless the plugin can't properly blend dry/wet, and Decapitator can).

Actually the 3rd clip is T-Racks with Sat2, and the others are Decapitators (Shy's original democlips, and yes - I limited too much to avoid obvious level differences).

Actually the 3rd clip is T-Racks with Sat2, and the others are Decapitators (Shy's original democlips, and yes - I limited too much to avoid obvious level differences).

Well, it's good to be fooled by prefering something that I already own.

By the way, Decapitator offers more tone-shaping options to choose from, and of course permit to abuse it while still sounding nice, distorded but a nice distortion.

But anyway, you are right: Decapitator offers more options and it's nicer sounding with more severe tweaking. T-Racks quickly breaks after one point and it's not that good sounding distortion, same with other algos/styles. But before that point it sounds pretty good.

The fact with T-RackS Brickwall Limiter is that it has been designed for mastering purposes, and using a saturation-enhanced limiter heavily is NOT at all the purpose of such tools.

I highly doubt that some people add +10dB of gain with their limiter after a compressor peaking at around -1.0dBFS in a mastering chain.

But nowadays everything is possible hehe, maybe they call it a new kind of music : "Squashed To Death Metal" .

Just finished working out our pricing for this weeks NAMM show, and here's where we've landed. For TDM, Decapitator will be priced the same as our other plug-ins, $349. For native users, we have just made the decision to offer Decapitator and all of our other native plug-ins for $179 each.

Decapitator will also make it's way into version 4 of both the TDM and Native bundles. If you purchase the bundle now, the update is free. For other bundle owners, the update prices will be $199 TDM and $99 Native. Prices on the bundle stay the same at $495 Native, and $1195 TDM.

We are shooting for an end of Feb ship date. With the new features, we'll need a couple of extra weeks to get ready, so it's likely we'll extend the public beta so we don't leave anyone hanging between Jan 31st and the ship date.

I haven't heard anything from the dev himself regarding this, but I'm in the same boat. I'm still holding out hope that Urs is going to add tempo-sync to Grain-Dad which will make the bundle almost a moot point for me.

is it me or does it read like its $99 for the upgrade to v4 of the Bundle, which may actually include more than just Decapitor (ie possibly also PanMan and maybe FlangeThing)
