The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

In 1974 the band called Gryphon composed the albumRed Queen to Gryphon Three. The album consists of four instrumental pieces called Opening Move, Second Spasm, Lament, and Checkmate.
I've got the vinyl of that! Only rock band I ever heard with a bassoon player.

Has a lot in common with Camel's Snow Goose album (which has nothing to do with chess).
The album by Gryphon is cool and The Snow Goose is my favourite album ever. :D

But surely, it don't matter if you're Black or White by Mr Jackson?

(Sorry guys to revive a pretty dormant lookin' thread from 7 months back, but I was trawling through the KVR forum search for the word 'Song' (prior to creating my next dubious and probably very short-lived KVR thread in a few minutes' time), and Hink's topic title made me laugh. )

I'm not sure about "the sexiest", but these guys probably have a song or two about bishops jumping queens and all that jazz.

BTW, "sexy" and "chess" are two words that should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

that's okay, I saw the title and thought "who posted this nonsense", it wasn't until the awl through the night I remembered the thread

Ironically today I just ordered a half pound of ginko biloba to make into tinctures because it's suppose to be good for short term...ummm...ahhh...yeah I had forgot all about this thread :hihi:

Anything by Queen ... the album Queen II .... considered by many to be their worst album ever ( whilst I think its their best after their first one! ) .. has strong references in a chessward direction ... like you have to know the lyrics ... not just that one of the tracks is called 'White Queen' and another 'March of the black Queen' ... My fairy KING is on the first album, as is 'the (k)night comes down' .... their bassist is John Deacon ... pretty close to a bishop I would say in a straw clutching moment? ...and they made an album called 'the game' ... now what sort of game would that be?
