Ihave same problems... + GUI is realy slow...Igro wrote:I tested in a different ways and found, that CPU loading is GOOD and without any spikes if GUI is closed. All troubles are only with open GUI at the same time as you are adjusting parameters. OR when you see how knobs adjusting automatically if they are being automated.Mescalito wrote:yes this is really annoying...and to correct it a little, this only appears when largo is receiving midi-data...Igro wrote:Unfortunately one bug still remains:
While project are playing(and even stopped) and GUI open, if you adjust some parameters, like cutoff, you will get high CPU spikes. I even reported it to Waldorf.
Check this video:
CPU spike video
try it out.. and when project is stopped maybe you play some notes...I cant believe this bug is still here

Hi Igro
I cannot reproduce the CPU spiking as seen in the video in Sonar 8 or Studio One..this would have been spotted easily when we tested.
What host are you using?
Thanks
Rob

No I did not try the demo. I listened to the MP3s on the site - they sounded thin & 'glassy' or maybe should I say 'metallic'. And that's just not my cup of tea really. But I really like the sounds that DocT is making enough to try the demo now.Ingonator wrote:If you think that Largo sounds thin where did you buy your ears ??v1o wrote:Actually that's great. I was under the impression that Largo sounded very thin and alot like "glass".DocT wrote:A few cruel V 1.5 noises quickly patched together:

Maybe you never tried to program your own sounds with the demo... ?!
If i combine other synths with Largo mostly Largo's sound stands out of the mix. That "glass" sound is probably a result of using the wavetables which combined with the Waldorf filters makes Largo unique compared to other synths.

My host is Energy XT2. Windows XP SP3. But I tried in Presonus Studio One Demo as well and high CPU spiking occurring there as well.(i know you have Presonus S1) Did you use windows task manager for exploring CPU loading? I'm really wondering if you don't have the same issue. A lot of people have this weird issue. I will download Sonar 8 Demo as well and see.
Added: Just tested in Sonar 8 and Podium. The same problem with those programs as well. ehh...

Maybe this is the problem...I have latest drivers for my Laptop Intel Mobile graphic chip(Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver version 14.32.4)ekeaze wrote:It can do something with graphics card. I have Nvidia 8600 256mb, may be largo needs more graphics RAM. I have same problems in Cubase 5, Reaper, Ableton 8, Windows 7 x64.

Hi Igro
Try adjusting your graphics card settings.*Hardware Acceleration settings*
Also i had these problems during testing but mine was due to where my dongle was plugged..i simply plugged into another unused usb port and the problem went although Largo is still hungry on cpu the other problems went away.
Now i only have heavy cpu hits on some pad sounds when i adjust the release on the *ADSR*
Hope this helps.

I was try it on older notebook with 256mb graphic card and same problems here too.. I think Largo + Windows need more than 256mb graphics Ram...Igro wrote:Maybe this is the problem...I have latest drivers for my Laptop Intel Mobile graphic chip(Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver version 14.32.4)ekeaze wrote:It can do something with graphics card. But maybe it's due to dongle? Do you have license on dongle or harddrive?ekeaze wrote:I was try it on older notebook with 256mb graphic card and same problems here too.. @Igro
My test machines during Largo tests:
Q6600 4GB Corsair DDR800 Windows XP 32 Studio One Pro (1GB Graphics Card NVIDIA Sparkle 9500 Fanless)
No problems on this machine...
Q6600 4GB Kingston Hyper X DDR800 Windows Vista 32 Sonar 8pe (512mb ATI Sapphire HD3450)
Multiple problems reported until i figured it was my *e-licencer* but after removing dongle and plugging into another port the problems went away.
Note:
Sonar has a higher Cpu hit than that of Studio One whilst using Largo anyways for me and the difference was and still is very noticable.
