One more question, that I hope isn't too dumb. I own Kontakt v3.5 already, so can I skip the Infinite Player and get the Jazz Kit instead...or is the player required to drive the samples?

The Infinite Player is the "unlock" key to be able to use all Sonic Reality Infinite Player format content inside Kontakt or Kontakt Player 3.5 or above. So it is required otherwise the sounds would only play in demo mode.

When installed and activated it shows up like this on the left side of Kontakt:



It's kind of like a plug-in within a plug-in. Essentially it's an expandable "library" in Kontakt terms.

Ok now I guess Im confused a bit standalone....

If the Infinite Player must come included with every purchase and is needed to authorize the libraries, then why the choice above (from the 1st page)? Doesnt the Jazz kit need Infinite Player to authorize it as well? In other words, how could you opt for the jazz kit without it also including Infinate Player?

Some people already own the Infinite Player if they bought it on its own or got it with Drum Masters 1 etc. So if they do and they are joining this group buy they don't need it twice. They have the option to get a new kit that no one has instead. If you don't already own the Infinite Player though you WILL need to choose it as one of the options for the sounds of this group buy to work. That's even if you own Kontakt or Kontakt Player etc. As mentioned the Infinite Player is the key to unlock the copy protection of all of the content of this group buy and other Infinite Player sounds from Sonic Reality.

Zedd thanks but it seems we all get Infinite Player anyway because without it we cant authorize the librarys...

If you already have it installed, I don't think you need to install another copy in order to use these libraries. I could be wrong... or perhaps these scripts will necessitate a more recent version of Infinite Player to be installed, but generally, once you have installed IP, I don't believe you will have to install another copy every time you add to a new sample set to your IP library.

Correct. You only need to have one Infinite Player installed and activated. Any updates to it (and also to the accompanying Kontakt Player) thus far are free and there's no need to own more than one Infinite Player unless you're in a studio or place that needs a multi-site license which is a whole other thing (each Infinite Player and library is licensed only for one person to use and cannot be shared with others).


By the way, I may have some really good news about the freebie options but before I say I need to just check on Monday to make sure we'll be able to do it... has something to do with being able to choose the amongst all of the freebies so you can mix and match... I can see some people may have wanted the Jazz kit even though they HAD to choose the Infinite Player for example so I may have a work around. I'll confirm on Monday for you how we're going to be delivering the freebies.

How do you go about getting another kit if you dont want EZ plry pro? I already have it with Toontrack superior drummer 2, so I dont need it. Where was this stated?

No, EZPP is not automatic and neither is IP. You choose it OR the kit in both cases.

As far as HOW this will be done, most likely this will be done by giving you all a redeem code to use on downloadablesoundz.com (esoundz can connect to it via the back end with a simple check box) and then you'll have multiple choice. This is how we've done it in past group buys. You'd simply choose the Jazz kit OR the Infinite Player. Whichever you choose you get in your download area. Pretty straight forward. What I am trying to do though is make it possible to mix and match between the freebies but before I say anything officially on that I just need to check to see on Monday if we can do it that way or if we have to have more than one code...

If I may, let me clarify for new people reading this. Infinite Player is needed to authorize the drum kits in this group buy. Infinite Player is included in the group buy. For those of us who have previously bought Infinite Player, Squids will allow us to choose a brand new previously unreleased Drum Masters 2 Ludwig® Jazz Kit instead of IP (Infinite Player).

Also... you get Toontrack EZPlayer Pro as one of the extras. If you don't want Toontrack EZPlayer Pro, you get another drum kit (but I can't remember the details on that).

I see - my bad. Mix and match on the freebies would be very cool, as I have no use for the grooves. It would be even more cool if we could choose which freebie MT kit we want. I have all of the OWD MT kits already, but there are some Drum Masters kits that I'd like to get my hands on.

Regarding my philosophical commentary... thanks. It was nice to see what I wrote struck a chord with some of you. Sorry to anyone if it's too off topic, pretentious or preachy. I obviously mean well. Look, each person has their own beliefs which we're all entitled to. What I think is good for anybody is to recognize what is common amongst us. It's also good to look up from wherever you are. A GREAT perspective we all share!

Musicians tend to understand the concept of breaking the illusion of separation between people better than most because music itself is such a universal language. The world can always use more musicians and lovers of music!

One last thing I'll say before I get off my soap box is that emotion is also a universal language and it is important how you feel. Good to get into "the zone". Musicians understand that because it's "the pocket of the groove" or that awesome solo (Steely Dan had a song that said "You're never gonna do it without the Fez on" which I believe was the imaginary hat you'd have to wear to get the take that was right on the money). What I find is that there is a "zone" to almost anything you do if you can find it. That's a general way to put it that I think is a one size fits all kind of statement. So I hope it was inspirational.

I've seen in this thread that you're one heck of a salesman but besides that it seems that you're also a fine cool person.

Thank you Squids for the excellent explanations. I now understand that we/I "have" to choose Infinite Player if we do not already have it, in order for the sounds to work. And throwing a bone (giving away another kit) to those who have purchased it already keeps everyone happy and coming back for more. A wonderful deal for all... I think we all understand that, or I hope we do. Put it off a month! And now days, you have to check when the new month starts. CC companies have taken to changing the date, so we can extend it this way.
