Hi,

first, sorry for the dumb questions :)

1) but what does "multi-track kits" mean ? and what's the meaning of DarkStar's picture (page #97 of this thread) ?

2) is it easy to deal with the settings of the kits within the player ? (one midi-out channel, or multi midi-out channels ? so basically, how does it work within the player ? )

3) I don't need Kontakt, do I ? I just download the player and the samples, and I can play right away, right ?

I'm kinda lost, so thank you for your answers !

Well, there are some thorough answers in the last couple of pages. But they may be advanced for some so here are some simple answers:

1) but what does "multi-track kits" mean ? and what's the meaning of DarkStar's picture (page #97 of this thread) ?

There are two types of kits we make. One is called "STm" which is stereo with some multichannel control (meaning you can control the level of the kick, snare, toms, hats separately). The other is called "MT" which stands for multi-track and that is when the discrete individual mics are able to be mixed per kit piece. If you don't know what that means you may not miss it... but luckily there IS the option to get one of these Multitrack kits, read all about it and learn what the differences are first hand to see if they mean anything to you and the way you'd use. Chances are you and most people will even prefer the STm kits (the way the kits are made in this group buy) because it is simpler and sounds great.

DarkStar's image was to show some of the differences between an STm kit and an MT kit. You can ignore it unless it is something you are particularly interested in. It's not something you HAVE to understand to enjoy this group buy.

2) is it easy to deal with the settings of the kits within the player ? (one midi-out channel, or multi midi-out channels ? so basically, how does it work within the player ? )

Yes, it's very easy. Each kit piece (kick, snare etc.) can be set to OMNI or its own midi channel quite easily.

3) I don't need Kontakt, right ?

Correct. It works with Kontakt Player 3.5 or 4 which is FREE. However you MUST select "Infinite Player" when you are given your options at the end of the group buy because that is what allows the Kontakt Player to work with these sounds. It "unlocks them" so they can be played (otherwise they would only play in demo mode in Kontakt Player because they are copyprotected and need to be 'activated" with NI first before you can use them... this you only have to do once though with the Infinite Player).

I might consider a trade of samples for truffles. ;)

The funny thing is that some of these threads get more eyes when there's something controversial going on like a developer trashing another developer... but that's also sad. Well, "that's just the nature of the way things woiks".

Now if you can guess what THAT quote came from you get 6 epointz (1 better than usual). I'll continue the quote... "I don't like yooooou either."

"Nothin' but darn luck!"

"I'm tellin' ya there's a man lying on the floor gutted! We gotta get out of here baby."

Wow! :o :-o I also saw something on the gearslutz thread. Don't know what's going on. I think that company makes fine products. They don't have anything to be defensive about.

I have an idea! Maybe they should hire you to run a group buy for them! :D

It's such a pity that he does what he does and it seems a bit on purpose to. Competition is scary and he doesn't seem to handle it in a good manner. It's almost as he wants you to apologies for everything you say on the forum. It's not a good way to promote the company he speaks for in any way.
Well enough of that. You know we love you Squids

I'm tempted to get the 6 epointz, but I really have no clue on this one :-o
I'm making a wild guess.... "The Big Lebowski". Top 5 movie on my list and I would guess it's a movie you like too based on your earlier movie quiz's :)
I can't remember that particular quote from The Big Lebowski, but wth. If the Dude had said it in his sarcastic and calm way it would fit "like a glove".
And that makes me think of another great movie and I'll give you a quote for a change:
"That's what you slipped in! That's what was on your shoe! And that explains the abrasion on your palm! Let me run that back for you."
Too easy though and I have no epointz to give to the one with the correct answer. Well if you get it right Squids, you could take som epointz from my account....but please don't do that..they are..my precioooooous!

Yes! Congratulations. But, I have a new rule. From now on if you put a question mark after it you're disqualified. Not this time, I'll give it to you. But I want a confident answer like this: BARFLY! Fair?

Anyway, well done. That one was obscure. You deserve the extra epoint. ;)

"You gonna fight him? Haha that's a laugh". I still know almost every line in that movie. What a film. It was done by Barbet Shroder who did "The Valley" which had the soundtrack from Pink Floyd "Obscured By Clouds".

Side note... I think I handled this diplomatically: http://www.vdrums.com/forum/showthread. ... post456771 If you at least have one person stick up for you on the forum then you're doing alright.

Ha ha. Squids, in return, maybe you shouldn't repeat the same movies in the competitions. Barfly have been around quite a few times now. Just to make it a bit harder for us. Fair!!!!!!!(?) ;)

Thanks for the Epointz btw.

It's not a company, it's just him. I am friends with Andreas of Toontrack and he'd never do that so it is just him acting on his own and representing himself. I think the chances of us doing anything with his sounds are one in one zillion trillion billion. But there's always a chance to do something with Toontrack... well, wait a sec, we ARE! Remember you get a FREE EZ Player Pro in THIS group buy that normally costs $50? You can thank Andreas and Toontrack for that.

No, I actually get along quite well and respect the various drum platform making companies and also the more direct competitors to us which are sound developers. I get along with Slate, John Emmerick and plenty of others. But, I don't know, maybe some are jealous of the attention or something. Who knows? I don't think it makes them look any better to do that. But that's each person's choice. I'm always going to talk about what makes our products great and if anyone has a problem with that... well, tough luck buddy. ;) I never say ours is the only great product and I am generally pretty fair in how I communicate... in fact, I rarely have to even defend what I say apart from sabotage situations. But, man, some of you have been hanging on forums with me for a long time. At a certain point you just have to laugh.
