Hey Squids,
Just thinking of things you might want to review with your development team in that discussion today...
I remember an issue I brought up about a year ago when I first got Infinite Player, with regards to MIDI channels. Currently you can load all the kit pieces in a Multi to an OMNI midi channel, OR otherwise each kit piece is given a sequential MIDI channel (which is not useful when trying to build a single kit). I believe you were considering ways in which to either control which MIDI channel all the kit pieces of a Multi are loaded into or a way of quickly changing all kit pieces to a specific MIDI channel.
Any chance this has been addressed? Or are you recommending working in OMNI mode?
As long as an instance of the Player is used for only one drum kit, then working in OMNI mode is not a problem. But at the time the issue was also being able to work with REX loops which went with those drum kits and which we would want to be able to process with the same effects. I do recall you saying that you had devised a way to use those REX loops on the same MIDI channel as the drum kits by using keys which don't interfere with the iMap. I presume that those loop instruments/multis are still coming soon for those who joined the 2008 IP Group Buy? Or have they already been released in the interim?

Well, it's not necessarily that I don't like them... There's just no context to them. I would prefer to hear them used in some full songs/mixes, rather than just rocking out solo.Squids wrote: If you don't like the current sound examples - especially the OWD kits which have a demo per kit (I am still working on putting up a demo per kit for the DM stuff and even some examples of hybrid kits but I think that's going to be down to the wire... maybe tomorrow) then that's more than half of it so it may not be for you. I'm talking about what you hear sonically.

That has been addressed in the DM2 script updates which are coming. There's a new script for Grooves which allows you to select which ones you want from a menu to be along side the kit which is ideal. But yeah, they are in Omni so if you want to put it on a specific midi channel that is still a hassle doing it for each one unless NI comes up with some kind of midi channel overide for the multi which would be cool. I've made that feature request with them. More things will be possible with Multi scripts in Kontakt 4 but we're not there yet! Still, we have a good solution for this coming and it is FREE for anyone who has purchased those kits or grooves from past group buys or a la carte or part of a Drum Masters package.zedd wrote:Hey Squids,

Also, something else that might make past IP and DM group buyers happy. You know the juicy coupons being offered in this group buy? Well, we're going to make it so you qualify for them too even if you didn't join this group buy. So a free update to the latest features (as soon as its ready and we're going as fast as we can!) AND discounts on other IP products as a gesture of appreciation for your patience waiting for these promised new features and for your friendly support. Thank you.

Better late than never, i'm in. This is a pretty ridiculous offer, even by the standards of the last group buy. To be honest, i'd probably have happily paid $99 for the two Jon Bonham kits...

That's funny. Out of all the kits, those two are the one's I'm most interested in as well!funkychickendance wrote:Better late than never, i'm in. It's hard to argue with 27, 28, (whatever it turns out to be..), kits at this price.Reverend Rhythm wrote:That's funny. A lot of them are pearls before swine in my case, but i do intend to turn down the volume, step away from the modal riffing and do something vaguely intelligent at some point during the course of next year. The Bonhams will get used well before then of course...

yeah...don't tell anyone but i'd be happy to pay double for half of these kits if they turn out as good as the demo kit...they will, of course be better with the round robins and my default hi-hat choking....funkychickendance wrote:It's hard to argue with 27, 28, (whatever it turns out to be..), kits at this price.Reverend Rhythm wrote:That's funny.
