Do yourself a favor and just get the whole bundle from the get go. I bought EZ-Driver but none of the other ones really grabbed me. But after playing with Kung Fuzz 68 for a while I'm kicking myself because it's a must have. Nice and warm at low fuzz and raucous when you turn it up. Good for adding a little hair to basslines. Mokafix, keep doing what you're doing!

Instead of switching it crossfades between wet and dry.

So try if you can try it and tell me if this solution works for you, I'll apply it to the whole series.
Works a treat for me! :) Windows XP/SP3 - Ableton Live 8.1

Ok, i updated the whole set.

You can get them on the website on regular download pages.
They all feature a crossfade on load and on/off switching.

They load smoothly now.

Wow, these are very, very nice. Thanks Moka ;)

I already mentionned there were other versions of Muffin Rider at work.
Here is a file containing two variations : triangle + black (demos).

They use the same engine, but the relative gain levels between stages, inner filtering, and EQ frequencies are different (with respect to original models), so they have slightly different tones.

Triangle is less gainy, and let chords pass through better.
Black one is even more gainy than the "3rd" (original Muffin Rider).

Among the three, one might suit a puprose better than the others.
They will be added to the website soon, packed with the current Muffin Rider.

Will these be included in the bundle?

Post

yep ;)

They are more or less different inner presets of the same plugin.

I spent som time comparing the muffin rider to my "real" big muff pedal, a four transistor run of the mill reissue from a few years back.

Well it's just incredible how close they are in the overall sound.
i also owned several other big muffs in the past (black sovtek green sovtek, ram's head...) and your different version are great too.

However there is something that bugs me.

The VST version seem to work better when i feed them with signals peaking at around -20 db. When fed with higher signals, they just sound really overloaded and fall appart in the bass when playing chords.

With lower input signals, the vst muffin rider sounds solid/great, but then it seems to pack less gain than the real deal big muff when i max out the sustain knob.

Did someone else notice the same thing ?

I don't know what's going on and I seem to be the only one having this problem, but these RAR files keep giving error messages to my un-rar utilities.

First I used 7zip. I got an error message that it had found an unexpected end to the archive.
So I got winrar and tried that. I got the same error message.

If I unpack it anyway the resulting file doesn't load in my DAW.

Post

You could try repairing the archive using winrar. There is an option off the toolbar!

These look awesome and other people's comments make them seem good also.

Are they stereo?

I'll have to wait at least a few weeks until I get paid to buy them if I decide to.
noise and beats: Negutyv Xeiro do people actually click these?
gearlust: Roland JP-8000, too much/not enough eurorack
machinecode by: u-he, Bitwig, Fabfilter, NI, et al

Thanks for the comments.
I will investigate on the Muffin Rider default input level. That is the kind of thing where there's always room for fine adjustement.
Are they stereo?
Yes. the demos aren't, but the release versions are stereo.
New versions featuring oversampling are about to be released too. They let you choose between x1 (no oversampling), x2, x3, x4 oversampling.

For now I tried only the free stuff (No Amp and Metal Clone) but I can say that the quality is absolutely insane !!!
Thanx for those, instant favorites !!!

First, happy new year to you all ! :)

Thanks again for all the comments!

All FXs have just been updated to 1.1.
They now all feature oversampling (demos too).
This is an important update as it makes those distortions sound much better on high notes and improves overall sound consistency.
Oversampling can be set to x2, x3, x4.
