Control Map channel (+port) awareness (what's the opposite of global?)
MIDI switching of Control Map+Mixer+Sequencer programs
Metronome control - that click is a creativity killer. No accent? Vol? Pitch?

There's no accent and pitch, but you can set the volume and number of beats for the pre-count if you right-click the metronome icon.makerprofaze wrote:Metronome control - that click is a creativity killer. No accent? Vol? Pitch?

Ha, I forgot I knew that! Thanks, though the real request is Accent. I've never Ever dealt with a sequencer with a straight click in 20 years. I have to look at the screen to know my count. Deceptive/Unintuitive. Thanks again, though.Branis wrote:There's no accent and pitch, but you can set the volume and number of beats for the pre-count if you right-click the metronome icon.

Dbl. click edit in midi editor for drum clips. Hmmm... this must be harder than it appears otherwise they would have done this already? Drum clips must be a different format than a regular instrument track.

Despite being able to change the volume, the metronome is still extremely horrible. At least let us use an audio file like the old 1.4 ;P

1. Option to Return Playing Cursor to Start Position on Stop. Really, every host has this feature.
2. Add to compressor sidechain button, and then which channel you want to be trigger. One of the most important features in todays modern daw:ns! Similar than ableton, samplitude and orion have.
3. Mousewheel support on zoom
4. One global swing. it takes time to set every channel individually.
5. It would be nice if we can see our mixer peaking level in db's values.
6. TOGGLE option to shortcuts. Now if i press f8 to open mixer, then press f8 again, it wont close mixer. Have to search another shortcut, which take time and nerves..
When i see at least 1, 2 and 3 features added, i will buy energy xt. This is promise.

You have a button right next to the stop button to rewind to start. Think of the stop button more like of a pause button. Also, If you press the stop button the next time it acts like a panic button.keel wrote:1. Option to Return Playing Cursor to Start Position on Stop. Really, every host has this feature.
You can easily set side-chaining in the modular view.2. Add to compressor sidechain button, and then which channel you want to be trigger. One of the most important features in todays modern daw:ns! Similar than ableton, samplitude and orion have.
Hold down the Ctrl key to use the mousewheel for zooming3. Mousewheel support on zoom
Maybe a master shuffle with settings to override or offset the channel shuffle?4. One global swing. it takes time to set every channel individually.
+1, at least I'd like to see a red mark when the level exceeds 0dB5. It would be nice if we can see our mixer peaking level in db's values.
Well, that's how it works here. I press F9 to open the mixer and F9 to close it, unless the mixer is docked, but then you should use F1 and F2 to cycle through the tabs.6. TOGGLE option to shortcuts. Now if i press f8 to open mixer, then press f8 again, it wont close mixer. Have to search another shortcut, which take time and nerves..

I'm too lazy about all those quote stuff
Zoom section, ctrl+mousewheel is okay, but what if you dont want to reach keyboard everytime? I personally like to do things with my mouse, not keyboard. Adding mousewheel support there would be great and useful, also it shouldn't take much effort. So why not? Also i just tried this out and looks like zooming only working for + way, not -. No matter scrolling i'm up or down, it will only zoom + way. Weird..
Sidechain, i dont know how easily i can do that in modular view, but in live i can set sidechain in couple seconds, cant be that faster? Also i would need thirdpart plugin to support this, or at least i guess so? Xt alrdy has own compressor, so little mod there and there shouldn't be big thing?
Playing cursor, that my text was copy from cubase settings. It is named that way in there. Yes i know there is shortcuts, but question is, do i want to search another shortcut all the time? spacebar is long enough and blind ones can find it easily. Adding this kinda option shouldn't take much effort.
In the end, i'm asking kinda little things. Only that sidechain feature would take little more time, but scroll support to zoom and option to return cursor to start when i press stop should be easy and fast to do.

I guess it comes down to personal preference, but the question is - would those changes make XT2 better or just different than it is now.
Of course, in the perfect scenario all commands including mouse behavior would be customizable, maybe we'll get there some day. Actually, we're not too far as you can customize a lot of shortcuts already.
It's true that XT2's compressor doesn't support side-chaining, but you can find free high quality compressors with side-chaining abilities that you can use in the modular view.

Maybe these have already been requested or are on the list, but if not they should be.
Sequencer Window suggestions:
Sequencer Window suggestions:
- Midi Track - Track Transpose function.
There should be a control where you can transpose a MIDI track up or down without having to edit the values in the piano roll.
Minimally XT2 should at least have the ability to bring the track up or down an octave. - The ability to delete an event (program change, velocity setting, etc) from the Sequencer window. Currently you can right click on notes to delete them but not events.
- When editing program changes, velocity, Pitchwheel, etc. to have the value currently being changed shown in the hint pane or a tool tip (somewhere!) so you can see what value is actually being set with having to go into the MIDI editor window.
- In the Object bar at the top of the Sequencer pane window - "Program" info should also show the program number! Otherwise you cannot match the program name shown with the event number.
Something like this would be great

where you could also double click on the number and just type in the program# if you know it.
Or if that's no possible maybe something like this

EnergyXT1 can do it.lockon stratos wrote:FR: Tempo automation. Live can do it.
EnergyXT2 can do it too, with some fiddling. Assign the BPM to a CC in the CC mapper and then either use a MIDI loopback driver, or embed your current project in an XT2 VST plugin instance and send the CC to it.
