Squids, I really appreciate your work and generosity but please don't use the word "should" anymore. Just say: It will be up there at so and so the earliest and you will receive your redeem codes at so and so.
Thank's SC
If anyone wants a definitive time for it to be there then check back Monday
That's the way, cool, I can perfectly live with that. You've definitely won a future customer here!

Trying your best is as much as anyone can ask of you. Thanks for the extended efforts. Sorry that it isn't paying dividends for you. That must be more frustrating than being a waiting customer. Will check back Monday.

Squids, I think I understand your feelings. I hate, hate, hate to miss deadlines. But sometimes _ _ it happens! You've said you're sorry, you've given us a piano to make up for it. You're trying to fix the problem. That's all you can do.

Some people are disappointed - that's understandable. I'm very curious myself. I want to see what the new scripts will do! I think the disappointed people understand the problem too, so in the end, we'll be okay. It's just that some of us may need to vent a little. And I think this is where the updates help.

As for me, I don't want to download until the smoke clears. Maybe in a couple of weeks. I've got enough to work on now!

Just wondering, seeing as IL DirectWave can open .nki (Kontakt libs) libraries, can this be used in DW? (I know the Infinity player is required, how would that work? Still install Kontakt, reg infinity player, and the you're free to use in which ever sampler? I'd use GM midi mapping of course, don't think iMap would work in DW).

Well, we're very daring and try to be on the cutting edge of digital delivery options for sounds because you just can't find these kinds of sounds from every store around the world. World-wide shipping can be expensive and takes forever. Products of this size are usually a lot more expensive... we try to break barriers all the time to stir things up and learn. Group Buys are a great example and we learn every time. Most go great overall but there's usually some kind of lesson involved. I remember when the "traffic colors" on esoundz were created so people could have an idea of traffic. The only way to know these things IS to have the traffic! So we're bold and that makes us vulnerable to potentially looking like ???? -especially to people new to this. But everyone can also ask themselves... have you ever seen a group buy quite like this? Custom made hot out of the oven, large files, latest sounds, previously unreleased material, redeem codes with multiple choice options... this is in many ways breaking some new ground for e-commerce at least in our industry. OR at the very least it is a new challenge for us each time.

It's always a balance for me with making it fun and interesting or a "no brainer" and then walking the tightrope without a net. Risk reward though. I wouldn't have wanted to miss a rare opportunity to bundle OWD kits with DM so... it HAD to be done! It's such a cool idea and it was our biggest esoundz group buy because the value is undeniable. It's just a PITA to deliver on a holiday weekend. Next time I'll have to plan for "but what if something happens". If all went as planned without a hitch you'd all have it by now. But to quote a few posts back "S&*T Happens".

Anyway, thanks for the kind words guys. I am not that down really. A bit tired but determined to get to the finish line. I am one of those people who would finish the marathon even if I was in 40th place. (who am I kidding? I'd be out of breath after a mile!!! lol But in theory...)

Better give Allen some leeway too. He's the guy in the office who has to manually build these 600+ orders. He will respond to your questions/concerns as soon as he has breathing room.

When there is not some crazy GB going on, Allen has been known to respond e-mails in under 5 minutes. He is a VERY-ON-THE-BALL sort of a guy, so if you haven't heard back from him it means he is working like mad to get things in order to satisfy everybody.

I haven't tried any drums from Sonic Reality so far, but I guess all the stuff in this group buy will make me hungry for more. I like the in depth sampling of the large(gigabytes) kits in EpiK DrumS. If i understand correctly those drums will only be available together as a bundle and not separately? Will there be equally big kits available to download or order separately?

How big are the upcoming Drum Masters 2 kits compared to The EpiK DrumS? Velocity layers, alternate samples, round robin etc? You don't have to give an exact number, since I think every kit is different from the other, but an estimation or a comparison between a kit from the group buy, a forthcoming Drum Master 2 kit and a kit from EpiK DrumS would be a interesting read. Maybe a diagram?

Keep up the good work Squids...and the rest of the team.

I know that :)
Just saying that, there is no need to post his email on every page.

Squids wrote:Yeah the place called Califa is such a little thing that could easily be missed but they make steak tacos right there in front of you with the steak marinated in something all night (if anyone knows... will trade epointz for recipes ;) jk) and they even make the torilla right there in front of you too so it just melts in your mouth. They don't have the pastor meat on a stick thing there though. That was across the street. Ever eat at Rincon Argentino? That place is amazing for a combo of Argentenian and Mexican. I don't know if I will have time to try your quesadilla place. But I'll come back another time... gotta see those pyramids. One day maybe I will do a tour of just stuff like that. Also you can't underestimate the sound of pyramid convolution impulse ambience on a drum kit. It's "other worldly". ;)

Since I am in a good mood I'll give all three of you the 5 epointz just for playing my game. ;) Listening to Bjork now. "Modern Things". What a quirky cool song. Those lyrics are so bizarre. Modern things waiting inside a mountain while dinosaurs amd people were dabbling outside all those years? I want some of what she's having.
If Califa is in Condesa you should be able to find pastor at El Tizoncito, in the same area. Califa is indeed famous for their tacos.
I think I've been to Rincon Argentino, but it has been a while since I went to an Argentinian restaurant in Mexico. I used to frequent Chez Gardel, over 10 years ago. I went back to Mexico in 1997 or 1998, and the Argentinian community had grown quite a bit.

Enjoy the pyramids. IIRC, as you climb the steps become narrower so instead of your feet pointing forward they have to be sideways. I don't know if this is for both the Sun and Moon pyramids, or just the Sun one. It's been a while since I've been there.

Just for a frame of reference here: this is the third (or fourth? I lost count) December Group Buy I've done with Sonic Reality (after the ReTank GB last year and the Sonic Tank GB the year before...) and there are always unexpected delays due to the fact that they become WAY more popular than anyone could ever have anticipated, but you know what -- in two days, it won't matter; I'll have enough musical tools to last me a whole 'nuther year. It's always a great deal and I have yet to regret a single purchase (though I was disappointed that SampleTank XL did not include a single sagbutt or sarrusophone patch, unless they were in there somewhere and I missed them  ).

Okay. Not all instructions are together yet but if you're bold and daring you've got a couple things in your My Downloads area of esoundz. First you go to the Member's Area (have to be logged in) then to My Soundz and then on the left My Downloads.

At the top in the middle you'll see: 2010-01-02: Ultimate Studio Drums Infinite Player Start Guide. That's the basics of getting started with Infinite Player if you're new to it.

So here's what we've got so far... it will start to get a little faster tonight and all should be up by the end of the day tomorrow for phase 1.

You will get a redeem code "product serial" in your member's area. If you click on it it will take you right to here: http://www.downloadablesoundz.com/redeem.php where you enter the code (actually it will enter it for you automatically but if not then you enter it) and that will take you to the place where you can choose between Infinite Player or if you already have it you can choose the Ludwig Jazz Kit (just note that the Jazz kit will show up in your user area some time tomorrow).

IMPORANT FOR NEW DOWNLOADABLESOUNDZ MEMBERS! DownloadableSoundz.com is Sonic Reality's place for "download card" type products that have redeem codes. We used that to be able to give you this multiple choice (mainly for rewarding past Infinite Player owners to not have to get it yet again but get a kit instead). So you will need to be a member of both eSoundz.com AND DownloadableSoundz.com however in the back end of your esoundz account you can LINK the two accounts so your same login/pwd will work on both.

Your Infinite Player (or Jazz Kit) will be available in your DownloadableSoundz.com download area. All of your other sounds like the OWD kits will be in your esoundz download area.

Alright so there's OWD Kit 1 and Kit 2 in all GBer's user area. Of course before you do anything you DO need to have Kontakt Player 3.5 or 4 installed. Then installed Infinite Player. An important tip. You DO unzip the Kontakt Player installer and Infinite Player installers when you download them but you DON'T UNZIP THE KIT'S ZIPS!!!!! Why? Because we have an easy "Infinite Player Library Installer" that you just drag and drop the zips onto and it puts everything nice and neat where they need to be.

-----
For convenience here is the READ ME:

Ultimate Studio Drums Infinite Player Quick Start guide:

1. Run the Kontakt 3.5 Player Installer and follow onscreen instructions

2. After Kontakt 3.5 Player is installed then run the Infinite Player Installer and follow on screen instructions.
When prompted for a location of the library Vista and 7 users must use
C:\users\your name\documents or an External Drive

3. Copy "Infinite Library Installer" onto your computer (this is for installing the sounds).

4. Run the Infinite Library Installer and drag the Kit ZIPS to the
Library Installer. Remember to leave the ZIPS as ZIPS (do not manually unzip them, the Library Instaler will do that for you and put all files and folders together properly. *Please note that if you are on a MAC using Safari go to Safari "prefs" and UNCHECK the "open safe files after downloading" box. This will keep the zips you download in their zip state.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR DOWNLOADED ZIPS: Make sure the size of the zip you have downloaded matches the size of the zip on the site in your download area. If you have not downloaded the full zip it may partially install but won't be full functional unless you confirm you have the complete zip downloaded. We recommend using a download manager which is a free application that helps with large sized downloads.

5. Open Kontakt Player 3.5. Once opened Click Add Library and navigate
to your Infinite Player folder. Read Kontakt Player 3.5 manual for how to load Multis and Instruments.

NOTE: Infinite Player also works with Kontakt Player 4 which is free from http://www.native-instruments.com (All Mac PPC users must use KP3.5, Mac Intel, Vista and Windows 7 users may prefer KP4)
