Why is the Infinite player/Kontakt 3.5 a 1.2GB download? Does it include instruments? I wish I could download just the Infinite Player.
I downloaded Kontakt 4 couple days back and that was around 1GB with some demos limited to 15min.
Kind of a waste of bandwidth especially since I (and I think many others) will be using the latest Kontakt.

Just went ahead and installed Kontakt Player 4 and it found the DM1 kits just fine and dandy. It appears I will have to "rebuild" my kits (assembled piece by piece) but that is just a minor inconvenience.mmichalski59 wrote:I currently have some DM1 kits and Infinite Player that I bought along with the Sonr stereo kit. In addition, I purchased a couple of DM1 MT kits. Infinite Player was installed using Kontakt 2.
How do I properly upgrade everything so that I run the new kits properly? Do I just install Kontakt 3.5 or 4 and I am good to go? Do I need to download IP again and reinstall it? I see how to do a new install but I am not sure what I do for an "upgrade" install.
Squids, I saw a mention of the updated scripts for DM1. Have those been released? I do not see them in my download area.

Oh they put both in one zip? Great. It's supposed to be two separate zips. We'll fix that tomorrow. But this Infinite Player installs the Deluxe Grand Piano so it is still rather large. We have another one that doesn't but it includes Kontakt 2 which only works with the previous material... the serials will work with either though and you only need to authorize the Infinite Player once and it will work with both 3.5 and 4, Player or Full.

The OWD kits go in everybody'ss user area automatically. The redeem code has to be placed in there one by one. I am going to help them do it until I fall asleep... I have to say I really like reading the humorous posts. Nothing like a good laugh. I try to put a little light hearted humor as much as I can.
Anyway, if I haven't answered all the questions at lightning speed and with at least 1,000 words then you know I've lost energy. I am so tired and I have to catch a plane tomorrow. I think I will HUG my T1... can you hug a T1? Seems like you should be able to.
I will of course answer all questions when I am back up and running in good old Sunny South Florida. If you're reading this and put off by the trickling in effect of stuff then I suggest just kicking back and making some music or doing something you enjoy... then check back Tuesday when the dust has settled a bit. But since there are tons of downloads involved anyway I can see a lot of you want to get crackin' so we're going to keep going tomorrow as well.
A couple things of note. You can turn EACH alt hit per articulation on or off in the round robin. This coming week a THOROUGH explanation in real time as the DM2 manual hasn't been completed yet. You are getting the very first released product of those features and will have even BETTER than a poorly written manual. You'll have interactive Q and A with the company. That said, I don't think it is too hard to figure out if you're savvy. I've heard from a few people who are loving it. Although I may have to check something on kit 1 or 2 with the alts. I will let you all know.
Some DM1 customers are asking if the DM2 update is ready. Not yet but it will be this month and FREE!
Okay, time to do mindless clicking and applying of redeem codes... we have a large team and normally I have people whose job it is to do that... but getting them to do it on a Saturday night? Priceless. That was a lazy joke. You can see I'm tired. I have a few helping me on this Saturday evening which makes me proud. If we're not the best at planning at least we strive to be the best in customer support.... but mark my words (famous last words of the evening) this time next year we're going to be AWESOME at planning and just as good or even better in customer support! You long time group buyers are going to see some major changes. This was a wet Squid slap in our faces and while I would do it all over again because it was either do this OWD bundle or miss it forever (you do realize the dilemma don't you?). Eh it's always something though. Either way one of my New Year's resolutions is to plan more. Less spontaneous combustion... and more sleep.
Hey not bad for a sleep mega post. Good night. I will be back on line tomorrow afternoon. Know that I won't be able to answers till then so ask them or save them - either way I will be back in action tomorrow so talk to you then!
Thanks again for your friendliness and patience with us.

I got my redeem code (yay!), clicked on it, was taken to the downloadablesoundz.com, clicked on select, but nothing is showing up in my download area? Where exactly should I see the infinite player? I'd ask if I did anything wrong, but I'm not sure where one would mess up in those few steps!
AH FORGET IT - user error! I didn't see where I needed to "purchase" it "for free". Now its there! Duh. Guess there are steps where on can goof! Ha!

Both of these kits sound amazing! Even BETTER than I anticipated and WAY better than the audio demos

Ok, a few observations...
1. The background graphics for each kit piece appear to be missing? All of the layers are on plain, white backgrounds. Was that the intention?
2. There is not much round robin going on with the IMAP kits. I only found it in a few kit pieces
The GM kits have LOTS of round robin layers though. Is this by design because IMAP offers alternate hits? Will it vary from kit to kit? I understand why it's not on the splash and china cymbals but the snares should have it, right? Anyway, just need some clarification on how round robin works. I'm sure others will ask too.
3. Maybe I'm crazy (well, certainly I AM
) but to me, the IMAP kits sound better than the GM kits. Am I hallucinating?
4. I'm getting some strange level fluctuations. Sometimes, I get clipping (on full velocity tom hits) and other times, I can barely hear the snare hits. I'm using Groove Monkee Blues midi. I haven't noticed this with DM1. Weird
Are these first two OWD kits the "final" releases or, just test? I think I know the answer but wanted to clarify for myself and others

Fast connection? Not even close. I'm in deepest rural Alaska with barely better than a dial up connection (when it's working at all). Only 7 hours and 45 minutes left to download the first kit (already been at it for over an hour - and sometimes the time meter seems to go backwords!). At this rate I should have all of this GB stuff downloaded just in time for the next year-end GB!luddite wrote:Yes but its a 1.17 gig download just the same so you may be finished before me if you have a fast connection....yarimurray wrote:Jealous! I just wanted to download the IP and Kontakt before I started downloading the kits. I'm an orderly guy like that. But I've bitten the bullet and started downloading the first kit. That way, in a couple of weeks (at this rate) when I've finished downloading the 1.17GB player, etc. at least I'll have something to play!

I'm definitely ponying up for the DVD once it's available. I'll probably just download a couple of kits in the meantime to play around. Also, I'll be visiting my beloved DSL in CA in a couple of months so I can download a bunch while I'm there. Most of this stuff will end up on my studio computer in CA anyway (not the laptop I'm using in the meantime).maximilians1 wrote:oh dear I hope you can get it mailed to you that doesn't sound like funyarimurray wrote:Fast connection? Which reminds me. Someone asked earlier and I'm not clear on this but are we able to install these kits and the IP on more than one computer? (Of course only using one at a time.) I don't believe all of this content would even fit on my laptop and I'd like to be able to use these kits on the go or in my studio (when I get back there).

Wow that remind me when about 6 years ago I got high speed internet for the first time... because we were 2 Poles away (electrical street poles) from getting cable internet.....I was living on a dead end street at the time......
Dial-up with these size wow you got patience.....it took me about 20 mins per kit and mere secs for the midi
