Squids wrote:One way we could add it automatically is to bundle the Jazz kit with the Deluxe Piano in the same zip. It'd make it 300ish megs larger but... what do you think Infinite Player veterans?
That's probably not a good idea... those of us in the original Infinite Player Group Buy already have this Deluxe Piano, do we not? All the people who are planning to take the Jazz kit, won't need to download the piano again.

Or is this piano different from the "Deluxe Acoustic Piano for Infinite Player" we got in the last GB?

It's way back somewhere in this thread - as a shortcut here's the url announced here http://www.oddgrooves.com/GB_upgrade.html I think it has all the details.

Yes that's the file Squids mentioned earlier - it's the skin graphic for OWD inside Kontakt. The missing file will be added as a separate fixit download later (Squids said).
http://www.sonicreality.com/squidscorne ... _Skins.zip

For your convenience. Read my post a couple up for details.
Thanks Squids - though now I'm faced with a dilemna - should I stick with my custom OWD skins (I substituted a tga) or go standard?

Part of the dilemna is resolving the eternal conundrum "just how many nipples should a drum kit have?" :help:

Got my authorization number and authorized thru Service center. So far, kits 1 & 2 sound great!! can't wait to check-out the rest!

Squids,

I tried downloading the image patch and extracted the zip into my IP root folder. I now see the OWD graphic on my instruments in Kontakt 3.5 but the graphic for the IP library is gone. Did I do something wrong?

BTW, I'm in no hurry for a fix if one is necessary. I appreciate all the effort you and your staff have put in to make this awesome group buy a sonic reality. (Couldn't resist)

Best regards,
Don

where exactly do these go? I installed IP, but for whatever reason I don't have an infinite player folder. I have successfully authorized everything. I just don't see an Infinite player folder.

For any Jamstix users out there - Using Live7, I've got jamstix sending out to Kontakt with the OWD Kit2 loaded while jamstix is concurrently playing a jamcussion West Africa groove. What a beautiful blend and what a wonderful kick on OWD Kit2.

The Kontakt4 Player also works a dream with EZPlayer Pro (had it already).

All this fun and only 2 kits down so far!

Thanks Squids & Co.

Greg
Agreed! This sounds amazing with Jamstix (2... haven't tried it with 3 beta yet) even just using the GM version of the kits, but honestly just playing the iMap versions of the kits has been the most fun so far (even if I can just play only the snare by itself at the moment, given my hamburger hands... I'll get better!).
And of course, one of the excellent features of EZPlayer is that it has Sonic Reality IMAP mapping so you can run those midi grooves through an IMAP kit in IP and then add your own keyboard touches along with it (and I am a fellow "hamburger hander"!).

EZPlayer is worth the wait and is an excellent extra folks. I'm trying to highlight and get people excited about the possibilities - not annoy people by gloating about what I've got.

The Infinite Player folder may be inside a Sonic Reality folder. But doing a search on your computer for a folder called Infinite Player should reveal the location for sure.

I am very excited about getting it. I can't wait to start organizing my library of MIDI loops, and building my own variants...

Hmmm...Maybe I never had it. I just reinstalled IP and there is no library graphic present. I would've sworn... Oh, well, "never mind" (Roseanne Rosannadanna).

Searched for both infinite player folder and sonic reality. it may be because I didn't load the kontakt player since I already have kontakt. I should have paid attention to the installer. I will doublecheck when I get back to my DAW. I'm also going to be reinstalling the IP with the grand piano install which should clear things up either way. thanks

Yes, I don't understand why everyone can't read 100+ pages of this thread to get all the information straight. ;) Just kidding. Actually for that reason I made this thread for the vital info: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 25&start=0 Thanks to Jind, Darkstar and Rev for helping that get all the stuff people NEED to see.

In short, I rushed my guy at NI to do the OWD GUI and custom DM2 GUI info.nkx update for me and somehow he didn't have the Infinite Player library image in there so we're SOL until he gets back this week. It's just an aesthetic thing, no functionality difference. That will be updated invisibly in one of the downloads which will have an even newer Studio Profiles Infinite Player_info.nkx and nkc

Hey since we're on the subject of that... look, this is just how NI does it for Kontakt. If you ask me I agree it's a bit... I don't know. Not how I would have wanted it designed but keep in mind we're using KONTAKT which is a VERY popular sampler and something a lot of third party sound developers like Sonic Reality, Vir2, Project SAM, Heaviosity, Steven Slate, Chris Hein and others use. They all work this way. The only difference is that we designed our libraries around ONE PLAYER that can be infinitely updated with more sounds as we release them in our dual Infinite Player/Kontakt format. So, now that you understand that (if you didn't know that already) this "Studio Profiles Infinite PLayer_info.nkx and nkc" will always be replaced every time there is a NEW library... such as EpiK DrumS for instance. That has new "Skins" (aka GUI aka Graphic User Interface backgrounds aka wallpapers...). These graphic files are "TGA" files which are like jpegs. But they're embedded within the NKX file just like samples are. So whenever - if ever - you try to load an Infinite Player patch and it searches specifically for a TGA file that means you don't have the LATEST "Studio Profiles Infinite Player_info.nkx" What we'll do to help with that since there are many different versions of libraries out now with various info.nkx's is this:

1. The new sounds you get will often come WITH the new info.nkx (that's short for Studio Profiles Infinite Player_info.nkx) and install automatically without you even having to think about it. That was SUPPOSED to be in the two OWD kits 1 and 2 so far. Someone forgot to put it in. Ehem. Anyway I've asked them to put it in tonight and it will also be in the other OWD kits. You don't even need to worry about this entire post if you're patient because this will update itself as you download and install more kits.

2. But... for the anxious, for the puzzled, for the GUI-less... we will always put the LATEST info.nkx into the SR support section. That way if you ever load a sound and it looks for a TGA you can just grab the latest one, replace what you've got and it'll find it.

The latest info.nkx has ALL of the cumulative graphics for all Infinite Player format libraries from Sonic Reality. However, at the moment the latest one is missing the Infinite Player library image. Just another little temporary hitch in trying to put together something like THIS so far and during the holidays. If you understand the handicaps we're dealing with you'd actually find that we're doing quite well considering the amount of people in this and what's involved.
