I've got Kit 1 loaded on my little ol' TD-3 and it's working great! Nize sizzle on the edge and tighter closer to the centre. There is quite a jump from tom 2 to tom 3 but that is likely due to the fact that it's only a 3 tom kit and a quick tweak to the midi note #'s should take care of that. Really a top notch kit IMHO, drums aren't my first instrument but I can bust out the basics. My brother is an excellent drummer, can't wait for him to check this out.

1737? Well I told you these were VINTAGE.duojet wrote:Just noticed something. There's nothing in the date modified column in explorer for alot of these files (I checked after updating kits 1 and 2). I've never heard of this. Send a screen shot over to allen (at) esoundz (dot) com.
But to be honest I don't think it is an actual problem affecting anyone and the last thing we need is EXTRA stuff for people to worry about... I doubt this is a problem for anyone. But we'll take a look and see how/why that would happen. It's not that way on my Mac.

Each hat is different. You may find that when you get the OWD kits you can swap out your favorite hats for that.paradidl wrote:Yes you do. Excellent. The problem is gone. Again, marvelous level of service, especially considering it's approaching 9p gator time.Squids wrote: Alright I think we have it now? Yes. We do.
Any tips for getting a tighter closed edge sound? Even with my VH offset at -100 and my foot mashed into the pedal the edge hits still sound a little loose. The closed bow sounds nice and tight.
Edit: I'm hoping to get a "tick" sound from the closed bow and a "chick" sound from the closed edge: tick-tick-CHICK-tick-tick-tick-CHICK-tick if you're playing with the hats closed on the bow and accenting on the edge. Make sense?
You could also try messing with the envelope to tighten the release perhaps or bring the sustain down and adjust the decay... although this will affect the opens unless you do this in CUSTOM map mode and load up two hats in the multi. There are ways to customize it to your liking pretty deep but at the moment it would mean being a little creative until we can build some more things in that are specific to a kit piece as complex as a hi hat.

nothing to worry about. Just wondering if anyone else saw this. I was checking the dates to make sure the right files got replaced and so windows explorer showed no date. I don't think it affects anything.Squids wrote:1737? Well I told you these were VINTAGE.duojet wrote:Just noticed something. It's important to keep a sense of humor even while being very serious and sincere. I know I take chances joking around with you all but you can also tell that I take this VERY seriously. Customers are everything to a business. It's what I tell my crew. I say to them "I am not your boss, THEY are all of our bosses." If you ever wonder why some companies do weird mistakes you can't believe it is because they forget to look at it from the customer's perspective or they are incapable of understanding what the customer perspective is. The MAIN reason I am on forums myself is to have a good understanding of that perspective... yet my own company doesn't look at what we do from the customer's perspective enough so that is ALWAYS something any company can and should improve. It's important now more than ever that word of mouth is so strong with the internet. People want the answers and they want honesty or they'll rip you to shreds. By the same token if you do them right and own up to your mistakes and do your best to make up for it then you can get a customer loyalty that very few companies achieve. We may not be the biggest company but the degree of customer loyalty we have and repeat business is unheard of in business. I have a lot of friends in different businesses and when I tell them the stats they just can't believe it... unfortunately we only sell things that a small portion of the population even knows exists! You can't go door to door with samples (samples of fabrics maybe).ebow wrote:cracked me up...Squids wrote:1737? Well I told you these were VINTAGE.duojet wrote:Just noticed something. There are plenty of bogus products out there designed just to take your money... and you look at that plastic skunk and think "Did I NEED this trinket?" (just kidding) but products like these are meant to just give you FUEL for creativity. There can't be enough of that in the world IMO. Something you can use to make great sounding music is something worth buying IMO. Whether it is samples or a new guitar or vintage keyboard... even an antique sample from the 1700's!

Plastic Skunk or a Fake Fish Plaque that sings... take your pick. Bart the Bass or whatever that was called. Things people get tired of and sell for a dollar in a garage sale.
I did get an Ensoniq Mirage for $10 in a garage sale though so I am not knocking garage sales. But... I can get creative with that thing. The plastic skunk apart from being a JOY to watch it just sits there really does nothing for me. (Although if Frank Zappa saw it he'd write a cool song about it so... from that standpoint anything is potential fuel for creativity).
Btw I don't have a plastic skunk in case anyone is not following the quirkiness. I never said I wasn't a little strange. And I'm not saying that wasn't not a double negative. See?

What I'm about to write does not really apply to new users of Infinite Player...
I would think you should want the Installer to give a message more along the lines of "The library is already installed. Would you like to overwrite any existing files?"
In any case I have updated my first two kits, and they're working like a charm. I think the hi-hat is working better with the V-drums.
I'm still trying to figure out the difference between eBow's hi-hat preference and Squids' preference. There doesn't seem to be any obvious difference. <scratching head smiley>
Squids, I created a Sonic Reality account and downloaded that upgrade. But just so you know, it still gives the message "The library is already installed" when you try to reinstall a library that you already have. So I decided to update the OWD kits 1 and 1 manually. And as I did so, I realized that the installer HAD actually installed something, even though it had given no progress bar and just provided the error message.Squids wrote:Yes you do need the latest Infinite Library Installer (which does come with the Infinite Player people are getting with this GB, Zedd is just a previous user who didn't have it).zedd wrote:Can you please provide a link for downloading the Infinite Player Installer upgrade?
Thanks.

i missed the bit about the singing fish plaque....how funny...i've been getting into the sopranos lately and last night watched the one where his daughter buys him one for xmas after him smashing one earlier over his club bouncers head.....all about some creepy nightmare significance that i haven't completely worked out (or hasn't yet been fully revealed)DrummerForJesus wrote:Where any skunks harmed in the making of these kits ????Squids wrote:Plastic Skunk or a Fake Fish Plaque that sings... take your pick. The person who makes that installer is Bernard from CDXtract. He's local here actually (even though he's from France). So we bug him for little things like that... would have wanted the progress bar but for whatever reason it can't. Not really sure WHY but as long as it works. But I agree. If you email that to Allen he talks to Bernard about that stuff. He can also make sure you have the latest one because I thought it DIDN'T say that anymore... perhaps it does. Well, it should say what you said.zedd wrote:What I'm about to write does not really apply to new users of Infinite Player...

Regarding the Ebow vs. Squid hat thing... my version just means you can be sloppier and it doesn't cut off.
I think I am going to go to the gym for a bit. I will check back in a bit. They're STILL working on it. Long hours... woo! I need to jump in the pool and refresh my brain. Be back in a bit.
Oh my web guy says that he's almost done. He's just testing it now. Says 10-20 minutes. I'll be back in about an hour to confirm. Jacuzzi time.
But Mr. Blue Sky just came up on my iTunes shuffle mode so it is tough competition. I might just listen to it and then go.

You're lucky Mr. Blue Sky is a long song.duojet wrote:are the other kits going up today? I still see nothing..
Anyway, read my post above. 10-20 minutes and it should be there. If not then Nikko gets thrown into the shark pit with the rest of them. Good thing sharks don't eat Squids... wait a second. (Dives in).
