Bit disappointed by a lot of the vocal based patches. Many, especially the ones based on Symphony of voices, seem to be more voice elements to me (lots of aaahs and ooohs) rather than fully worked up into proper patches in the way that say, some of the patches made for V-Synth based on vocal sounds have been (e.g "Da "V" Code"). They make useful starting points but then why aren't they classed as elements rather than patches?

Drop in the ocean of course, most of it seems brilliant but I had heard good things about this (formerly v expensive) sample set.

I like the SOV voices for what they are-realistic sounding choral beds-great stuff to be used for pads etc. The DaV Code patch in the V-Synth is cool but it uses the elastic audio feature in the V-Synth so the tempo of the phrase doesnt change when you play chords or a legato melody. Omnisphere doesnt have that ability-therefore all the samples in SOV that were ohrasebased wouldnt really work in Omnisphere. I guess thats the reason why most of them werent included in Omnisphere.

BTW i often use patches as elements in a Multistack.
Very cool and easy way to build customsounds by simply stacking several patches.

Oh I know - probably wasn't the best example. I meant more I was hoping for something that level of complexity - not specifically the phrasing aspect. I just think most are too simplistic - I appreciate the need for realistic beds etc but some could be more complex and evolving etc too.

You my friend should seriously consider Trilian. A "bass" module yes, but it is an absolutely huge library of classic ananlog synths. Moogs, ARPS, korgs, roland, prophets, Oscar etc, you name it. And they sound just amazing. I quite like the spectrasonics filters as well. And of course you can load the whole Trilian library into Omnisphere as well. Yes - the Earth Magic bank.

I have a second bank of patches from SoundsDivine, but I have no idea where they came from. It's a bank of 20 patches, including Alpha State, Analogue Padding, Angel's Embrace, etc.

Perhaps they were available there at one time, but have since been removed. If I figure out the source, I'll post a link.

Yep, I have similar gripes, you do really need to do some serious processing to get most of them usable (which is highly subjective)

One preset I do like but usually modify by tuning down the "Filter Variation" modulation is "Lost Boy Pad 2". But its more of a pad type vocal sound, which is what I usually use in my music rather than more authentic sounding vocals. Think Alchemy Dream Voices expansion, "Voice of the Sun" preset for the type of preset I like.
