Hi,
When I load a kit, should I see an insrument graphic, for instance a kick drum, on the left side of the rack slot? All I see now is the OWD logo on every slot.
Thanks in advance,
G

well, I thought that i was just going to man up and download everything, but now I simply cannot get any of the drums to DL. I have tried Firefox, Safari, used download managers (downthem all and iGetter) and they either won't start or they just stop after like 300 megs.
right now I am trying and my download manager says "connecting", then it goes to "waiting" and just sits there. been doing this all morning and the DL meter at esoundz says low activity. very frustrating.

Alright so to try to manage this for everyone let's do this.
1. Please don't post "I haven't gotten my "X" yet. What should I do?"
The answer is the same: email support or directly to allen
allen (at) esoundz (dot) com
(We right it that way so spam bots that scan KVR don't send him even more spam)
2. If you're find an issue that you think others my have too or know the solution then I've created a thread in our COMPANY FORUM which is a better place than this fast moving marketing forum thread to try to help. I know that experienced users like DarkStar and Rev are able to help some of you and I am too in the midst of everything... but it is going to get LOST in here so post those here please: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 62#3925262
If people can re-route people to that thread for that it would help.
3. If you're having trouble getting things going please be patient and rest assured all people will be helped, assisted and supported as best we can. We're not a HUGE company with a fleet of people ready to take your call. But, we're a professional sound company that has been in this business for over 12 years. We will make sure you're all set and we have an AMAZING community of cool users of Sonic Reality products that love to help each other.
4. If we find that an issue someone has reported either directly to Allen (and you can CC me too if you want - dave (at) sonicreality (dot) com ) or if they think it is something that might be affecting others and posted it here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 62#3925262 and it is something that affects everyone then I will update everyone both in this thread and the vital info thread.
Thanks for cooperating. I want to minimize confusion for everyone is all and I also want to go to bed before midnight tonight.

No, what you are seeing is correct. These are different than the regular OWD kit graphics.Photo_G wrote:Hi,

I'm using Yazsoft Speed Download (got it in the MacUpdate Xmas bundle) - might be worth giving that a try as it's happily grabbed about eight kits so far - however, I don't know what the trial restrictions are.michael2 wrote:well, I thought that i was just going to man up and download everything, but now I simply cannot get any of the drums to DL. To be safe, I've got it throttled back to only do one download at a time with a maximum of three connections per download.

I think what I am going to do to make it happen quick is start answering support questions from here in this thread: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=274430
So look their for the answer to your questions. If you don't see an answer then it must mean you need to contact Allen in support.

You guys are awesome at helping each other with suggestions for Download Managers. Can someone consolidate a list of suggested download managers people are using and any other info that might help others download (such as tips on "Resume", or good times to download from your experience)? Then if someone puts that consolidated list into the Vital Info thread it could help some people. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 25&start=0
Thanks! Trying to help everyone in every way I can think of here...

1) is there any additional bonus for going over 200 pages in this thread???
2) I just finished dowloading everything, I have used Firefox with downthemall add-on, I can only recommend it. I just selected all the kits, set it to download maximum 2 at a time (green light/low traffic sign was on) and then went to bed, this morning it was nearly done...
3) I had a quick play with some of the kits with my mostly-DIY e-drums.
To my taste, some of the kick drums are a bit too "boomy", but the snares and the toms are really wonderful. The toms in particular are really deep and delicious.

Although I love the "boomy" room sound on bass drums I understand your point. You often want the tight kick sound. The good things here is that you can just replace the kick drum with some other OWD "dry" kick. I've tried that with good results. I really like the flexibility of this thing.autodafe wrote: 3) I had a quick play with some of the kits with my mostly-DIY e-drums.

Although previous versions were better, that's also what I used and downloaded everything with it.Gamma-UT wrote: I'm using Yazsoft Speed Download (got it in the MacUpdate Xmas bundle) - might be worth giving that a try as it's happily grabbed about eight kits so far - however, I don't know what the trial restrictions are.

I began at 8:20 yesterday. Downloads took between 25 minutes and an hour and 20 minutes. This was NOT related to a file's size. Probably it had more to do with network traffic at that particular time.
I usually have a maximum of 6 downloads when using Speed Download. In this case I had between 4 and 6.

If I remember correct kit 1 and 2 have big loose sound. Is that what you mean by boomy? The remind me of an old slingerland kit with a 26 inch BD. I love that sound, but it's not for every kind of music. But some of the OWD bass drums are nothing but tight! There is a lot of variety.opus74 wrote:Although I love the "boomy" room sound on bass drums I understand your point. You often want the tight kick sound.
