hi,

just found a better way (subjective, though) to install 150 odd grooves to EZ Player Pro, in case you want to use it with other drum samplers than those from this group buy. you will definitely want to use EPP's map warp function.
the PDF that came with the download described that 1) locate the user midi file folder, and 2) copy the midi grooves. with this installation, the installed grooves cannot have proper "property" to describe what the source map is.

fix (?) to this is... just drag and drop "220@ODDGROOVES BONUS" to EPP, and specify the source type to either IMAP or GM. when you use it with some drum sampler, Superior Drummer 2.0 for example, set the master map warp (or track map warp) to the one that matches the destination (superior 2.0 for this example) and it should work.

and am now examing the kits from this GB with grooves from Toontrack's product, just by setting the map warp to IMAP! thanks for the great GB!

I have seen several references to this on the forum, but the threads are so huge that I cannot find the info I need. Am I just supposed to wait now, or should I go ahead and install? Thanks a lot!
The serial gets released manually by a human during Florida business hours which are 10 am to 6 pm NORMALLY although we have been working double shifts through this most of the time so there is a chance it can be at other times. it is 9 am now.... I think you'll get it within the next couple of hours or less.

Enjoy!

no...I haven't...which video thread?
I will make some video of me playing, but that's a bit more complicated (need to setup video cameras, and so on...)

Guys, one more quick question. Is the registration limit for Infinite Player the same as full Kontakt?

The reason I ask: I am experimenting with Boot Camp on my iMac right now, so my current Windows install may or may not stay, and I don't want to use an authorization on it if there is an extremely limited number of them.

Any word on this?

I dreamt that you had asked that and I hadn't answered... I guess it WAS real! Haha.

The TAOS kit IS being released! It sounds UNNNNNNNNNbelievable!!!!!!!! It is very different than your usual kit though. But WOW is it good. The bass drum is over 40 inches or something like that. Calf skin. Ridiculously huge. That will be in the new Drum Masters 2 Platinum and Platinum Kits Only (that replaces the Complete Kits Collection). It will also be available in a Deluxe Drummer Pack with just Jerry.
I've been bugging you about roto toms off and on for 2-3 years now so I can see how you might dream about that.
The TAOS examples sound really cool so I'll keep my eye out for that in the future.
The NDV Premier kit in the GB does NOT have the timbales and rotos. But they ARE in the Drum Masters Signature Kits Vol. 1 They're also in the Deluxe Nick D'Virgilio Drummer Pack (replaces the Complete Nick D'Virgilio title we have now).

It sounds like you are saying that DM Signature Kits Vol 1 and Deluxe NDV Drummer Pack are upcoming releases but Complete NDV is current? I can't find a link to any of the 3 though.
Pretty soon you'll start seeing the old Drum Masters 1 stuff go away (last chance to get some of that stuff and remember the DM2 upgrade patches for them ARE free) and the refreshed new (and different) Drum Masters 2 line replacing it.

I now understand that the MT Premiere bonus for this GB does not come with the roto-toms but could they be obtained by purchasing the a la carte products which mention them?
ie the NDV one I linked to earlier
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=2404
or the "roto timbales" kit
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=2405

or am I reading correctly that the only way is through the packages you mentioned above.
No it doesn't say that. This is the the MT discrete mic channel mixing version of the STm NDV Premier kits in the bundle. All of the MT kit options are multitrack versions of STm kits in the bundle.
Now I'm just a little confused what you mean by "discrete mic channel" version. I assume the bonus versions have all the mics mentioned on the product pages, just not all the pieces (ie no rototoms and timbales)
ie in the case of the NDV Premier MT:
This kit includes the following mic channels:
Kick Direct
Snare Top Direct
Snare Bottom
Tom 1 Direct
Tom 2 Direct
Tom 3 Direct
Tom 4 Direct
Tom 5 Direct
Overheads
Room 1
Room 2

Would the Blackwell Sonor MT kit have the subkick? ie its not mentioned in the stereo product page but is on the MT product page.
There is no NDV Premiere stereo kit product page to reference so it all gets a little confusing!!

Maybe these are sort of unique to this GB and I should just stop trying to cross-reference with the Drum Masters stuff on esoundz??

Same as Kontakt I believe. You can auth on several of your machines.

Chester,

The Complete NDV Collection was available for a limited time but will be coming BACK just called Nick D'Virgilio Deluxe Drummer Pack. If you look the new DM2 range is a little easier to follow.

We're going to be revamping the individual a la carte kits so it is less confusing. You CAN purchase this one: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=2405 to get the Rotos and Timbales and we will have a DM2 patch update for it for free. ALL current DM1 kits AND grooves will have this update so if you own ANY whether from a past group buy, a la carte purchase or in Silver, Gold, Platinum... free updates for all DM1 users we decided. We WANT you to have the latest features at no charge.

I believe I did a cross reference post (it's in the Vital Info thread) about which kits in the GB are also available from DM1. They would be the ST kits though, not the MT kits. Stereo not Multitrack with discrete mic mixing.

The layout you described with overheads, rooms, subkick (and yes the Blackwell has Subkick! Of course, he's R&B, Hip Hop... had to!) is what we call MT or Multitrack or "Discrete mic mixing".

The ST aka Stereo and now in DM2 we call it STm because it is STEREO mixed kit pieces (a kit piece is a "snare" or a "kick") have the direct, overheads and rooms pre-mixed. But the lower case "m" is because now in DM2 they can be mixed multichannel at the bottom like OWD DL was. So you have separate sliders/busses/individual outputs to your DAW for Kick, Snare, Hats, Toms, Ride, Crashes, Splash, China... but in STm you don't have the blend of directs to overheads or the under snare mic for snap or a sub kick to mix with the kick or various room mics in different positions... that's in the MT kits and they're more deluxe in that way. But BOTH are good to have! STm is also easier to swap kit pieces, easier to process and work with - faster loading, less intense on the CPU etc.

Does that help?

That sucks, I just had to do a reinstall due to crappy 64-bit soundcard drivers. I'm not familiar with Kontakt. How many times can we authorise?

I think I'll be with this machine for at least another year or two but it would be nice to be able to authorise it as many times as i like though, especially considering the impermanence of most computer setups nowadays. Can I be sure I will always be able to use these sounds?

You can authorize as many times as you need to. It'll allow at least 2 or 3 and if you run into problems NI tech support will help you with it. No worries.

As for using the sounds, as long as there is Kontakt - yes! It is the most popular sampler. If it didn't exist we'd find a way for the sounds to anyway. We use them too!

Thanks! I thought that might be the case, just good to have it confirmed.

And thanks for all these brilliant sounding kits :)

Many of these samples are from the same sessions as what we did for Studiophonik's sound set. By the way, I finally have a green light on the release of the additional sounds for that this Quarter as part of something I can't talk about but I will talk about that in detail toward the end of the month after NAMM. The SPK kits are sort of in between STm and MT but they have no round robin and not as many samples... different animal though as they have those SampleTank effects and that is going to evolve this year in an interesting way but really I can't talk too much about that.

In any case, the idea of Infinite Player, since it is based on Kontakt which has 24 bit disc streaming, Rex playback, round robin, scripting customization, key switching and the ability to be licensed to sound developers is to house ALL of the best Sonic Reality sample archives. What we do for SampleTank or in Reason is MORE than just sample archives - the patches and built-in DSP play a big part. But the SOURCE of that material as well as material we've done for Roland, Alesis, Yamaha, NI, Propellerheads, Cakewalk, Mackie, Emagic, Steinberg, Camel Audio, M-Audio and all sorts of other Audios are sample archives that we own (including the original Miroslav Orchestral and Choir archives which still has unreleased material). So the BEST of all Sonic Reality sample archive sources will be made for Infinite Player and you can add it in. Squids Tron Collection for example is coming this Quarter for IP. A bunch of other things. Konstruction brings in the song construction loop titles from R.A.W. but makes them interactive and playable from the keyboard (and they will now come WITH R.A.W. as well for those that are interested in Loops).

The Infinite Player is the gateway to Sonic Reality sounds in Kontakt. The best sounds we've done up until now and the sounds we've never released because we needed to have these features I mentioned above to be able to do like say... a 10 velocity 11 foot Imperial Grand with 93 keys and recorded through the Dark Side of the Moon console with the assistance of Alan Parsons... full duration and with a special harp resonance technique that I came up with that is the most realistic I've heard. Stuff like THAT is coming as well. ;)

Along those lines, are there any plans to update the UFO sample converter to allow converting the Sonic Kapsule sounds to Inifinite Player (or does the scripting involved not make this an easy 1:1 map?). I see the Kapsules for sale on the SR website in IR format, but didn't know if there was a conversion process for those who owned them in the previous format.
