The same can be said for using real drums...they suck when slightly hit. You have to BASH the *hit out of drums to make them sound great. So many times in the studio drummers would lightly hit the kick..drove me crazy especially when the drummer asks "why do the drums sound wimpy?" :o If you listen to Bonzo and Moon, their drums sounded great mainly because they were great drummers and hit them HARD... Of course you wouldn't do that on a ballad  but the point I think is to think like a drummer and hit them hard and consistently.

Can EZPP translate to the SR I-MAP format?

I'm becoming partial to the number six ambient kit myself. I really like the snare bounce sound, and the room ambience sounds awesome to me.

Have tried 5 kits so far, love them all except number 8, doesn't fit my style of music, I'm an old fuddyduddy. Been playing some Jamstix patterns through kits 1,2,4amb,and 10. SOUNDS GREAT!! Now back to downloading.

+1
kit 6 ambient is becoming one of my favorite. Kick is big enough, but not too "boom", snare is beautiful and the toms are super ;-)

It can actually translate to "IMAP (standard)" and "IMAP (extended)". I have no idea, though, what the difference is between both.

There's a good map of the iMap in the Vital Info thread. I will explain it more. But the short version is that the standard is Imap without the extra keys (apart from the kick which always had the extra keys in both maps).
So far I like them all especially KIT 10 on the snare rolls? These kits are really awesome in sounds. I got the Odd Groove GB, couln't resist  but I guess I need the EZ player PRO to play them. Hopefully later tonight or tomorrow we can begin the Phase II download. I'm psyched :D :D
Hey Hydemusic..

Would be grateful if you let us know what you think of those grooves when you get them going... i'm on the fence with these at the moment.. i'm a bit of a 4/4 guy.. but it does seem like a good deal..

Enjoying the kits a lot... well worth the entrance fee already... hard to believe there is more to come.. Many thanks to Squids and co... another very happy customer here.. Its definitely making me take notice of your other products.. and looking forward to your future releases.. another convert....

peace....paul....

I got the two 4/4 packs from Oddgrooves and they are the best midi files for rock and funk around (yes, there are funk grooves there too). Even better than Groove Monkey IMO.

I really like 10, but 4 is also one of my favorites. Come to think of it, I like 12 a lot, so I'm not sure which one is my favorite.

I think the bass drums on 1 and 2 would work well in a T-Bone Burnett kind of tune. I guess I'd have to say that I like them all.

Many thanks... paul...

Groove Monkee stuff is good too. If you don't program your own grooves it is not a bad idea to collect as much of that as you can.

SquidiMidi is also going to be groovalicious although that might be the last thing delivered so it can be as good as I really want it to be. I have someone else editing that for me right now. First time I released midi files of finger drumming with full iMap use. Should be interesting.
