Hi All
Kits sound great. I've installed all the ocean way kits, but the 'infinite player' graphic doesn't show in the library panel and every time i load a multi i get that the 'owd_gui...tga file is missing. I thought installing later kits was supposed to take care of that, but it didn't for me. i can point it to the .nkx file in the infinite player folder, but that doesn't work. Any help?

K... Thanks for the heads up Squids...Squids wrote:Groove Monkee stuff is good too. If you don't program your own grooves it is not a bad idea to collect as much of that as you can.
SquidiMidi is also going to be groovalicious although that might be the last thing delivered so it can be as good as I really want it to be. I have someone else editing that for me right now. First time I released midi files of finger drumming with full iMap use. Should be interesting.
I'll grab those too.. cant have enough drums and grooves... 10% off them for the rest of today i think..
I do write some of my own beats on the keyboard but I'm not proficient, takes me time to get it right.. so i like to be able grab a groove quickly if I'm writing on guitar or bass, and get the idea down before it's gone..
Looking forward to the squid midi too...
paul...

You probably just need to remove the two NI info files from the library directory and then (re)load a(nother) kit to get the updated info files that contain the graphics. That's what fixed it for me.

+1 for the GrooveMonkee stuff. I've had most of his stuff for years, and used it on pretty much everything I did up until I got Jamstix (and even then, I'll -- shhh, don't tell anyone -- sometimes use a GrooveMonkee MIDI file as the base template for a Jamstix groove). Only, all my GrooveMonkee stuff is in General MIDI and I don't know what the upgrade path is to get them all in iMap (or if there's even any advantage to having the files in iMap layout).Squids wrote:Groove Monkee stuff is good too. If I understand it correctly iMap is for making it easier to be a keyboard finger drummer, there is no advantage over GM for sequencing. It actually looks to be a disadvantage due the amount of work it takes to undo the firmly entrenched GM standard. I think it's used just for finger drumming.DrApostropheX wrote:if there's even any advantage to having the files in iMap layout.

Cheers Standalone.. Thats what i wanted to know... think i'll go grab those...
do you think it's worth still having the groove monkee files?...
Many thanks... paul...
Yes, I got a lot of them too. It's worth having both collections. They are not expensive and really shine with incredible drum libraries like OWD and Drum Masters.
And we are waiting for Squids' fingers to give us their magic!. After watching his videos I'm sure this is going to rock!.

Most of it is uploaded but we're going through the final patches checking to make sure it looks good. Remember these are hot out of the oven. You're the first in the world to get these. I'll give you an update but it is going to be at least 3-4 more hours.Mattiiiii wrote:+1000000VSTJuNkiE wrote:+1000!!!!!tomg wrote:Ok it's Thursday... I'm ready anytime you are.

GM is good for compatibility with the popularity of that standard if you want to use it with midi files out there or if you happen to be used to that layout yourself and enjoy it. iMap, however, is for more than JUST finger drumming. It is a more powerful map for sequencing as well - particularly if you are creating the parts but also if you're going to use NEW iMap grooves coming out this year which take advantage of the additional articulations. iMap is way more expressive than GM. You have more 2 or 3 times the performance articulations to work with for a start. For instance, with GM you have just Hi hat closed, hat foot and open. That's it pretty much (for the main standard GM format unmodified). With iMap you have closed inside, closed edge, hat bell, choke, foot closed, foot open, a regular open and a Bonham-style open edge... that's just the hi hats. With snares you have even more!tomg wrote:If I understand it correctly iMap is for making it easier to be a keyboard finger drummer, there is no advantage over GM for sequencing.
