Ha, I see you sandbagged with your confusion over my hints on the Mistress just to get me to make this one way too easy!!! Good job :)

:D
So is the original AC30 also reworked?
And we get a reworked Dual Rectifier and a new Boogie MKIII?

Great!

But what about that Tube Screamer and generic *almost* CryBaby?
Or the JCMs?
And those AT2 Fenders that sort of sound like your guitar is just going direct?
Did Fender kick IK's butt and make you guys get them right?

And do we get a spring reverb that actually sounds like a spring reverb?
What about a usable gate?

Post

If anything "old" shows up in this, it will be reworked. The process with Fender was, as told to me, very stringent but in a good way. We already take the modeling very seriously and are meticulous and they had their input on how their amps sounded for sure. Glad it was like that, AT Fender is amazing IMO.

That's very good to know.

Thanks Peter!

What do you mean by "this" exactly?
Is it only one product you're talking about?

I figure that either all AmpliTubes will be consolidated into a new version with a paid upgrade (tiered depending upon how many editions you own?) or if this is a totally new edition to the AmpliTube line, then all existing editions (including, but not limited to, X-GEAR) will at least get free updates with drag&drop and the other advancements. But even if the various AmpliTubes become one, Fender and probably Ampeg SVX will still remain separate, so that's at least two or three products that will get significant updates like we've seen, if not more.

Either way, that's a lot of "old".

What we've seen on Youtube so far is definitely either a consolidated AmpliTube 3, or X-GEAR loaded with an updated AT2/3 (as indicated by the new graphics), plus JHE and Metal.

But if it's a totally new edition you're talking about and not an expanded AT2/3, then what we saw on Youtube is not it, and what we're actually seeing and talking about are two separate products, at least.

Did anybody notice there currently are several cheap packages around bundling AT products ?

for example.
What that means is up to everybody's guess.

We're definitely offering great pricing on three of the AmpliTube series but I hadn't seen that Thomann edition. I could check into anything you need me to, though, but it seems it is more just fuel for the speculation. Which, of course, I'm down with. :)

As far as the old, new, borrowed, blue, and all that... anything in this, gear we've done before or gear we haven't, is basically taking the experience from the improvements in AmpliTube Fender and some stuff even beyond that. Applying what we've learned since those days of yore, toward this. I hope that makes sense. It is certainly exciting, in my book, since I really think AT Fender hit it out of the park.

Yeah, I just hope it doesn't mean we're going to be out the money we've put in so far a month from now and have to shell out all over again, especially those who just recently bought in. People would feel cheated, mislead, and taken for a ride. It's the kind of thing that would make a lot of happy new customers sour very quickly.

Post

I confirmed there will be fair upgrades and another incentive so I would think there would be a low percentage of sourness. We've really been listening, I hope it shows and continues to.

There's that 'this' word again...
Does that mean 'this' product replaces all existing AmpliTube products, or do the older ones simply not get updated with all these cool new features?

Or are we really talking about several products -- a new product plus the entire existing AmpliTube line -- and if so, does this "old gear getting updated" still apply across the board?

Post

And one more question. Is my new StealthPedal still going to be relevant and work with this new product/AmpliTube upgrade, or did I just buy something that is about to become obsolete for nothing?

There will be more than one surprise at NAMM (barring some disastrous issue I suppose) but we're talking technically about one product here. "This" just means generically what we're speculating about here, many of you believe it is AmpliTube 3.

A 2/3rds price reduction indicates very clearly that the end of the line has been reached for several products.

And is "this" what we saw in the Youtube drag&drop videos?

Or just a bad economy.
