And I hope to be 90% the same ...:)
The difference you are hearing is all to do with the OH and Room mic levels. As soon as you hear what happens when you start adjusting those levels in the MT kit, you will discover a whole world of possibilites for getting the sound which you heard and many more from that kit by doing nothing other than changing a few fader levels.

really hope so, Also I hear some ring in the snare on the website samples..
I hope to get that to in the MT kit..
:)

Thanks Squids! The Bonhm Kit cymbals seem to fade more naturally now (to my uneducated ear).

I already have that MT kit. There is a definite ring to the snare, and there are basically two different snare mics to allow for lots of combinations, plus 4 room mics: OH, RM1, RM2 and MISC2 to completely customize the kit sound.

But out of the box it sounds very much like the demo sound you are craving.

It's a sampler vs a real drummer in a real room with great mics. Yes it's fake but I think the samples are just mistuned.
No,

i don't think so! It's the same base note me, but different mix! Try to eq the mids a little. Overtones and behaviour will come closer to what you hear in that demo. Besides that, the discrete Kit will have more option regarding getting THAT sound. While the Stereo Kits are nice and convenient, they had to do a stem mix of each kit part and hadto go for a certain sound on that stem. I think, it's a mixing issue and the multi track kit will be way more flexible, regarding making it sound different.

But besides that, you still can exchange kitpieces. Some ringy Snares in there for shure!
doh!!

sorry if i missed it but what happened to the other phase 2 kits like the levee kit and collins kit?

The new formats are great and, IMHO, much easier to work with.

I know this has come up previously, but are there any current plans to put the OWD and/or DM kits in Drumcore format?

Currently, I've just got the OWD 10 kit in Drumcore and it is fantastic, but I'd like to get the rest of them in there too as Drumcore really is a great interface for this stuff.

Cheers

That is a whole other topic to discuss in the SR forum. But, the short answer is: not sure. It depends on how well the current ones sell and perhaps our friends at Sonoma who bought Submersible will give it a lift. If so then you never know. If not then... at least we did some!

www.groovemonkee.com

A veritable buffet of IMAP Midi files... :hihi:
+1
Last year (!) these were available from eSoundz, but I cannot find them now. Squids, perhaps you can reinstate them?
We're friends with Russ and recommend Groove Monkee midi files. We love that they support iMap. Carrying them on esoundz vs. just getting them from him proved to be a little complicated though especially since people tended to want all of the other formats too like BFD, EZD etc. So, it made more sense just to get the midi packs from them. We may do some kind of affiliate thing this year with cross coupon discounts and stuff but nothing definitive. Groove Monkee wasn't part of this group buy. But Odd Grooves was and you have a great upgrade offer from Per.

There are 1,000 midi grooves from Groove Monkee that come with the full version of Drum Masters though.

On top of this we are doing some really deluxe midi products ourselves this year including files played by famous drummers... and loads of SquidiMidi finally.

All of these are hybrid kits utilizing bits from the other DM kits

Drum Masters 2 Collins Kit X
Drum Masters 2 Duke Kit X
Drum Masters 2 Doctor Nirvana Kit X
Drum Masters 2 JB Sensitone™ Kit X
Drum Masters 2 JB Danger Ogletree Kit X
Drum Masters 2 JB Supraphonic™ Kit X
Drum Masters 2 JB Brady Deep X

The only thing sticking out as unknown is:

Drum Masters 2 Stairway Levee Kit

Should this have had a red X all along or is it a full kit?

That one needed a red X too. But there is something different about these hybrid kits. They're not part of the 50 PURE hybrid kits (pure meaning that there are no new samples in the 50 hybrid kits - they only pool from other kits). In THESE partial hybrid kits they may have a unique kick or snare, toms etc. but share other kit pieces. This was initially so we can get you some more flavors and kit pieces to pool from for making hybrid kits.

The only thing that isn't in a kit yet is the bonus Gadd snare. That will make its way into the 50 Hybrid Kits in a patch called something like "Gadd to Meet U Kit" or "Gadd This is Over" or "Sure Gadd U Got This Huh Kit". ;)

Anyway, the kits above are now in your download area as one zip called 'DM2 Misc Kits". Download away! Phase 2 is complete.

Now onto phase 3. We may have found a way to do this tomorrow instead of Monday. I will let you know! 50 Hyrbid Kits, 25 convolution impulses and a partridge in a pear treeeeeeee. Also a redeem code to get you a free MT kit and either a FREE $50 value EZ Player Pro or your choice of ANOTHER MT Kit.

Can you BELIEVE this was all only $99? I hope we made some friends on this one. Even if it took us a while to deliver and we didn't say that upfront (we honestly didn't know it was going to be this hard) you have to admit this is some serious value!

Lastly, the information on DVD options will be available soon but might be delayed a week because of NAMM. We'll do our best. Same for Hard Drive options. Allen and half the crew will still be back in the office though while the rest of us are tap dancing on the NAMM show floor. A lot going on this month. But we're dedicated to making you a happy esoundz customer and Drum Masters 2 and OWD user!
