Would you use the iphone for a pick which doing that? Sounds like it would be wicked beefy. Maybe apple will just start an add on, ipick.

Maybe icepick? Wait, that's the sound some amps make :) Hey, I was nice and didn't say some amp sims! Whoops, I guess I just did.

OK. Now back to serious business. Drop us some new hints, Peter!
Will this new product have a smartgate/hush pedal or just the same built in gate that no one uses?

Will it still have preamp/EQ/spring reverb/poweramp modules or be custom monolithic like Fender and Ampeg SVX?
Or will it be a mix of both, like Metal? If it still has the spring reverb module, will it be redone and more realistic?
Did you find out anything definitive about the JC-120 chorus?

(BTW, I posted this from my iPhone.)

Hey, I just wanted to stay on topic... :?

Better noise reduction is the one missing link in the current Amplitube line IMO. Line6's noise "Learn" is considerably better than just gating IMO (yeah, it changes the tone, but you can work around that) and I really hope Amplitube worked on that. Right now, my Jazzmaster and Amplitube just don't mix on any kind of distorted sounds...It would be nice to open up that door.

Those wouldn't be hints, they would be outright giveaways! I've let out quite a bit today so stuff like that may have to wait a bit...

Glad to see such interest, and I really can't wait until it is all announced. Where's the teaser page anyway? I'll have to ask about that. Worked so well last time :)

posted this from my phone too, so I could see how torturous it was... Not too bad but you guys will probably be better off looking to our Facebook and Twitter and YouTube since we are going to make this a more 'live' event than before (pics and videos took days, for example). I may still try to gather some goodies where I can, though.

what is this facebook or twitter you speak of?

@noisegate: Mine has always worked fine  Not doubting you though. Maybe I just don't use high gains that much.

@fender/jazzmaster: Really? Man, I got a hard time believing that those p90 types wouldn't go great with fender! The supersonic is my fav higain mod.

Jazzmaster's don't actually have P90's though they look them. They're actually stock single coil pickups just wound into a funny shape. Also, Jazzmaster's are known for being more noise-prone than stock Strats or Tele's even do to a number of reasons.

Right now I'm rocking Seymour Duncan Jazzmaster Antiquity II's and they're built to classic specs. They sound great clean, but distortion really amplifies the noise in a huge way.

C'mon there must be something new you can divulge.
It's been several hours now and I need my fix!

Geez, ya know, there was a time at my ripe ol' age I though I knew some things :?

Regardless of the new product, ever considered using hardware NR ?
There are lots of options around, from stomp to rackmount.
Personally I'm using Behringer SNR-2000 and Hush 2000 units between preamp / DI and converter with fine results, Nekro is partial to some Boss pedal afaik and so on.
Imho with NR hardware has some big advantages, hands-on control and metering come to mind.
And I've yet to see a real time software solution that comes close to hardware ...
All that said, I sure would like to see a Hush-/ISP clone in AT.
Last but not least, ime noise should first be fought at the source, pickups, shielding, cables, position etc - the best possible NR actually might be a Frontier Tranzport  , depending on your situation.
Just some thoughts,

That is an interesting solution. For me, I'm so picky about hum I just make sure I've got humbuckers or noisless, but if you are happy with the pickups I can see this as a viable solution!

i used my KP2 on my pedal board for 2 years, using it as a "wha" and tremolo/slicer controlling it with my toe

Even with humbuckers or noiseless PUs, whenever I'm coming near the part of my room with the PC, mixer, racks and so on, noise is getting out of hand pretty fast.
The Tranzport actually is a wonderful little device, 100% recommended.
And you can't beat sitting on the couch while playing, Bundy style, coffee in reach ...
Cheers,
