I have a question for Squids or anyone who really understands the system heirarchy of samples/instruments/multis heirarchy in Infinite Player...
Where would you suggest that we store our modified kit pieces, and our modified multis so that there will be less risk of broken links and unfound samples/instruments at a later date?
Here is what I am thinking so far...
User Multis here: Infinite Player > Multis > User Multis
User Kit pieces here: Infinite Player > Instruments > User Kit pieces
Is the IP preset system designed to find instruments and multis from ANY folder location within the Infinite Player folder so long as the samples and instruments are not moved after a multi or instrument is saved?

anyone using these kits with full k3.5 and cubase 5?
For some reason, only when loading the GB multis, my Kontakt window goes white for about 3-5 seconds after loading the samples and then everything works.
None of my other Kontakt multis do that.
Just curious if anyone else is seeing that.

I'd try it in Standalone to determine if it is an issue specific to Cubase.

Same here, but I use the kits in Kontakt 4 with FL Studio as DAW. My impression was that Kontakt needs a little time after loading all the kits to re-draw the screen or something like that. I also think that I had the same issue when I opened other huge libraries in Kontakt (e.g., Scarbee MM Bass), so I guess this is normal on slower computers (or in connection with certain DAWs).

I'm using Sonar 8.5 and have the same problem (can also be reproduced with FLStudio 9). The window doesn't go white though, it just seems to freeze the DAW for about 8-10 seconds.gmon72 wrote:anyone using these kits with full k3.5 and cubase 5?

am i crazy , or are all the OWD 10 kits (dry, med, ambient) mapped differently or missing samples??? i have everything mapped out on my new yamaha multi-12 pad. when i load any of the "10" kits the ride cymbal sounds seem to be missing.....seems to work fine on all the other owd kits. BTW im using the ocean way drums i-map @ http://www.sonicreality.com/index.php/imap/ as a reference point for programming my drumpad midi mapping is that correct or should i be looking at the "extended i-map drums" picture for these GB kits???

IP2 does create the folder C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt Player 2\UserPatches with Instruments and Multis folders in it. I tend to do it differently. I just save the patches or multis in the existing IP folders, but I have made all the original Instruments and Multis "Read-only".
As for finding items - you could move one item and try. If the sample names in the Instrument have been saved as "relative" then they would not be found after the .nki is moved, but you can then locate them by browsing, then resave the .nki

I posted this over in the other thread, concerning missing samples:
The Nirwana kit has a missing samples issue. Obviously the zip file didn't include those samples. Searching the folders yielded no results. What gives?
The same counts for the Danger Olgle Kit, no samples found.
The DM2 Supraphonic Kit also has this missing samples issue.
The DM2 Sensitone Kit is missing samples too.
One of the rimshot samples in the DM2 Collins Kit is broken, it has a distortion crack in the middle.

I am using the GB multi's hosted within the JamStix v3 beta VSTi loaded in Reaper v3.161 on a newer dual core 2.0Ghz/4Gb RAM machine, and I see the 'freezing' behavior too. When this is going on (generally around 10 seconds), one of my cores is running at about 90%. Kontakt (v3.5 full), is configured to use both cores, but it doesn't seem to while "post"-loading the samples.
