If you do not already have Infinite Player you will need to choose that with your redeem code. It is needed to authorize the library (kits) Once that is done you can then use them in Kontakt Full. I am posting the "Getting Started" instructions here for everyones convenience. These instructions are found in both your esoundz account and within the Infinite Player download.

Getting Started

1. Run the Kontakt 3.5 Player Installer and follow onscreen instructions (the download is located in your esoundz or downloadablesoundz account)

2. After Kontakt 3.5 Player is installed then run the Infinite Player Installer and follow on screen instructions.
When prompted for a location of the library Vista and 7 users must use
C:\users\your name\documents or an External Drive

3. Copy "Infinite Library Installer" onto your computer (this is for installing the sounds).

4. Run the Infinite Library Installer and drag the Kit ZIPS to the
Library Installer. Remember to leave the ZIPS as ZIPS (do not manually unzip them, the Library Instaler will do that for you and put all files and folders together properly.
*Please note that if you are on a MAC using Safari go to Safari "prefs" and UNCHECK the
"open safe files after downloading" box. This will keep the zips you download in their zip state.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR DOWNLOADED ZIPS: Make sure the size of the zip you have downloaded matches the size of the zip on the site in your download area. If you have not downloaded the full
zip it may partially install but won t be full functional unless you confirm you have the complete zip downloaded. We recommend using a download manager which is a free application that helps with large sized downloads.

5. Open Kontakt Player 3.5. Once opened Click Add Library and navigate
to your Infinite Player folder. Read Kontakt Player 3.5 manual for how to load Multis and Instruments

NOTE: Infinite Player also works with Kontakt Player 4 (All Mac PPC users must use KP3.5, Mac Intel, Vista and Windows 7 users may prefer KP4)

If you click on that it will take you to http://www.downoadablesoundz.com/redeem.php where that code will be redeemed so you can select either the Infinite Player (which you NEED if you don't have it) or a Jazz Kit (for those that have the Infinite Player already, this is a nice alternative bonus).
OK, here's my first apparent tragedy. I went to my esoundz account page, merged with downloadablesoundz account, DL'd Kontakt Player. chose the Jazz kit as I already DL'd Kontakt Player and already own Kontakt 3.5 full anyway. I guess that was my first mistake. Contrary to all the info on the site about "Infinite Player" being just Kontakt Player, there is apparently an important distinction. Your statement here is actually the first I read that you absolutely NEED Infinite Player.

Squids wrote: 3. You'll first download the Infinite Player Installer and unzip it. Inside will be a Quick Start Guide which talks about how to load the sounds so make sure you follow that - particularly with regard to installing the sounds by keeping the zips of the kits still in zip format and dragging and dropping them onto the library installer.
OK, maybe I missed something again, (I thought I was paying attention). But I'm looking at my esoundz member download page but I still don't see anything about needing Infinite Player, or that I need to be sure not to have Safari unzip the files. So, I'm sitting here with all the content folders unzipped by Safari, which seems to nicely toss the zip files away. Can I do anything at all with these, or should I just toss them and re-download the zips?

Furthermore, if I download the zips intact, how do I now authorize the encrypted Kontakt files without having access to the "Infinite" version of Kontakt Player? Or maybe my question should be , where do I download just the Infinite Kontakt Player?

I tried to find if anyone else had this problem as it's obviously an easy mistake to make, but in the many pages of issues regarding this group buy, it's tough to find anything specific. Thanks for any help here.
In your download area of esoundz there is a news that has information about keeping your zips intact. You do need to redownload them and keep them as zips.

You also do need to get and authorize the Infinite Player to be able to play these sounds. If someone said that Infinite Player and Kontakt Player are the same thing this is not true. Infinite Player's software is Kontakt Player but the Infinite Player itself is a Sonic Reality library authorization "gateway" to our sounds. All Kontakt Player third party companies have to have this so that it is registered with NI. You DO need the Infinite Player in order to play these sounds.

I suggest you contact allen (at) esoundz (dot) com to see what he can do. If you haven't downloaded the Jazz kit yet he can probably just switch it out for you. Luckily this didn't happen a lot but I agree we could have communicated better about that. Most of the discussion was lost in a thread we had no idea was going to be so huge. But we did split off a VITAL INFO thread for everyone with up to date information. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 25&start=0

HOW TO USE YAMAHA DTXPLORER KITS WITH THE ULTIMATE STUDIO DRUMS

I saw at least one other mention of DTXplorer kits in the monster thread, however, thought it better to add this to the community support thread.

The DTXplorer kit does not output standard GM notes for midi (most are right, but Snare and Kick are different). The brain also does not provide a mapping function.

For DTXplorer users, there are a few options as follows:

Method 1 - Use the mapping in Infinite Player:

1. With a kit already pre-loaded in the Infinite Player library, for each drum, you will see a heading on the right that says mapping mode. If you are using the DTXplorer, I assume you have loaded the GM kits.

2. From the drop-down box below the mapping mode heading, select "Custom".

3. If you have already plugged your kit in and turned it on, you can click the "midi learn" button then hit the appropriate drum (i.e.-if you are re-mapping the kick drum, give the drum a kick).

This will re-map the kick for you. Do the same with the snare. All other drums seem to be okay (test thme to be sure).

4. If you want to do this manually, instead of step 3, for the kick drum, use the mapped key dial to select note 33. For the snare, use the mapped key dial to select 31.

Issues/Limitations with this method: If you deciee tyo load another kit, you will need to do this again. If you have something you recorded previously and need ot load a new kit, you will also need to do this all again.

Method 2 - Use other software to re-map drums:

There are a number of free or shareware software solutions that allow you to remap the drums. I have used an application called midiOX and more recently an application called edrum Midi Mapper.

These take a bit more to set up and require that you pre-configure a map. This has the advantage of providing a method to ensure what is recorded is GM compatible, and will mean you don't have to fiddle with individual drum mappings every time you decide to change drums.

Reaper also comes witha a tool for remapping (IX-Keymap and Keymap II), which you just have to add in the effects chain prior to the kontakt player. This can still have the issue that method 1 has, where you might have to reconfigure it, each time you try to play a pre-saved midi loop (as reaper will record the notes from the drums, not the remapped notes). External software will get around this issue.

Personally, I found some of this type of software fairly unfreindly, so prefer to audition kits, find the one I want and then configure it and not change it. I won't be distributing loops and am happy to do a bit of reconfiguration as needed.

Hope this helps any DTXplorerers out there.

Cheers

Analyst69 wrote:With a number of people having problems keeping track of the different versions of files and the set up, I thought I should share my hassle-free experience and how I did it:

How I got it all going without hassles

1. I downloaded all the files over a number of days, but also constantly followed the forums so I was aware of the files that were updated.

2. I selected and copied the entire table of downloads in the download page and pasted it in word. I added an extra column titled Status where I tracked the status of my downloads. This meant I didn't rely on the little ticks, but could also make a note of anything I needed to download again. After everything was downloaded, I went through every file in this table and checked the file sizes. I had three differences which were the bonham kit, and OWD 1 and 2 (which I knew would be different because I had followed the forums). While I knew I could patch the OWD kits, I chose to re-download so all my files are right from scratch. I had also already noted the update to the bonham kit, so expected this.

3. Now I was happy that I had all the bits I needed, I installed Kontakt 4. I then read the instructions in the Infinte player zip file and followed them carefully. I did set up the IP library in a different location than recommended (on Win 7) and it all worked fine.

4. After installing IP, I ran the library installer and started dragging and dropping the library files. All worked perfectly.

5. Fired up reaper, created a new track and loaded Kontakt with the IP library and it all worked perfectly.

What helped me the most was the table in the word document. I could continue to be sure of where I was at with the download process and make notes of any updates I need to deal with. As a result, I have had a smooth install, All graphics work fine and I have my library where I want it.

I should maybe point out, I am almost totally new to the whole concept of the sampler. I have always been a traditional musician (guitarist, who played some drums, miced into old cassette four track recorders and digital recorders in more recent years). I entered the world of e-drums about 18 months ago, but had not really got my computer seriously involved before now. I am however, an IT kind-of-guy, so managing computer files was not new to me (this might have helped).

Awesome work by Squids and co., and great support from many on the forums have made this relatively painless, given the complexity it involves.

All who have helped deserve a pat on the back (or probably a few cold beers).

I am one very happy customer. :D

Cheers

Happy it all worked out for you!!! There will always be some minor set backs with these type of things.. I did a print screen and pasted it in word so I could check the size of the kits without haveing to go to the web page and log in..

Almost done DL the damn "Bohnm kit" and the "Gretch kit"...I just hope these last 2 install right so I can be done with this Phase......Fingers crossed

Hey all. Started downloading the kits yesterday, and all has gone smoothly...

Until this morning I tried to download the "NDV ST Premier Kit (Dry)."

The Download link redirects to a page stating:
"downloadablenetwork.com This domain is expired, please renew it."

Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!!

Did you refresh the page? I found I have to refresh sometimes. And you can also try another browser.

Have you already downloaded the Tama Sticks Kit? If not, you will get missing sample issues with most of the Kits in DM 2 Misc Kits

Thanks for clearing that up, Squids. That should definitely be emblazoned on the esoundz site somewhere! I've contacted Allen.

I'm familiar with NI's licensing and authorization scheme. I simply thought that downloading your Kontakt Player, which is the only player listed at the top of my member download page, would have provided the authorization capability.

Note that I was not aware of the existence of these support threads here at KVR prior to my purchase and download of these sounds. There are no links to these support resources on the esoundz support pages. It was only after I realized I had a problem that I googled and found this KVR resource.

Thanks for your time. I'm sure this can be ironed out.

You need to have the NDV Premier and Gretsch its fully downloaded and installed for those kits to work since they are partial hybrid kits and pool from some of the kit pieces in those other kits.

If you guys want the MISC KITS to load you do need to have everything downloaded and installed. Those are the only ones so far with shared kit pieces. But of course the upcoming 50 hybrid kits are ONLY made of shared kit pieces and they too will need you to have all of the samples from the bundle installed to work.

I have a nice solution for the hi hat debate. There are already three different map patches saved back - GM, IMAP and V-DRUM. So I am going to make them work this way:

V-DRUM: All opens cut off only with the foot. That is how it is now (just checking to make sure it is set for each kit that way). This also happens to be the Squids traditional way of choking hi hats for iMap so if you happen to like it that way for IMAP too then you can load an IMAP kit and "X out" the hat, load in the VDRUM hat kit piece of that kit and then in the map page drop down IMAP instead of V-Drum. Wala you have Squids RARE hi hat method.

GM: This will have the "ebow" (vocal person on KVR in this) request which was for the closed AND foot to choke the opens. Again, if you want that feature now for IMAP all you have to do is the same thing I said above but load the GM hat and change that to IMAP.

IMAP: Congrats Sock of Gold. You win. I tried it out and it does work nicely that way... even if I think I prefer deliberately hitting the foot each time I want to close it but that takes more expertise. Ironically this TOO takes expertise in terms of not hitting the wrong note. My midi files were more forgiving so I will have to redo them. Anyway, enough with the preface! For IMAP you will have the following articulations choking the opens:

Foot (F)

Inside Closed (F#) and its extra key (G) - that's usually a slightly more open closed hit. (also the low bell D#)

Edge (G#)

Choke (A)

That will be the default for IMAP now. But if you prefer to have less things choking then you can go load the other two maps. If that's confusing then later we'll save them back with something like "FT" in the name when choke is just foot, "CL" when it is foot and closed and "ALL" when it is all of them (or F-A anyway).

Sound good?
