i have Modular 3 since years now and still
have to make something useful with this.

Somehow i doesn't click with me, even though i did a lot with
the nord mod ,which is somehow similar in terms of modules.

Does Modular 4 work with older scope cards as well ?

I think so - hope it doesn't use too much more DSP though

must get this

It's pretty amazing. I'm demoing it now.

I've loaded some old Mod III presets and mucked around with the Waldorf modules a bit.

It's hard to decide where to start, before you finally realize that you've already built something.

Sounds great, of course. :)

Don't ask me, I just play here.

Having seen this in a few places, I've just picked up a cheap PCI 14xDSP and am awaiting the windows 7 x64 drivers :D

Are there any 3rd-party modules as well ? I know there was Flexor for Modular 3 (and does Modular 3 still work with Scope 5 ?)

Yes, Mod III works with Scope 5.

I've still only skimmed the surface of what Mod IV can do, since I'm a relative novice, but there are some guys out there coming up with some amazing patches.

So is the DSP usage comparable to Mod 2 and 3? (for similar patches obviously)

Also can it use any third party module made for Modular 3 or do they need up[dating?

Post

:o :D :D

I assume this means that there's an SDK to write your own modules ?

Edit: And I've just realised Strav implied Flexor 3 runs in Modular 4 ? Nice !

From what I can tell, my board won't have any software with it, so I'll be sending Sonic Core the serial and finding out whatever the situation is, and then most likely buying Scope 5. After that, I can't see Modular 4 being far behind.

Scope is just for that...!
He who has ears... let them hear...!

I'm also slightly confused about the upgrade - If I pay for the Scope v5 upgrade, because it's a 14DSP board, does that mean that both the Mix&Master and Synth&Sample (or whatever) packs are included - it comes with everything in those by default ?

Post

I don't think so as those are parts of Modular IV... better to ask info@soniccore.de

Yes, many of the older bundles are included in the overall Scope 5 bundle.
You can send your reg. key file to SC and they'll give you a new key for the new board (if you're migrating plugins/synths, etc. to a different board).

Email SC and let them know which version of Scope you're currently running, since V5 is free for V4.5 owners (AFAIK).

It's entirely relative to how many modules and what type of modules are being used in the patch.

I know - that's why I asked in relation to comparable patches. Do Modular 3 patches open in 4? (or have any been reconstructed?)
