It would be really cool if, while you're fidgeting away nervously awaiting more votes, you could render out some of those presets you created in your tracks, and upload them to the shared preset folder ..

http://www.4shared.com/dir/19666751/aa0 ... esets.html

... note, in the Flex-N-Stein folder, you will find two folders ( FNS4, and FNS4.01 ) ... so best check which version you used in the comp before uploading. :)

Post

I will upload the presets, but was never able to figure out which version I had as it only says 4 on the synth and the about page eluded me.. :?:

I thought you were in Europe Tattiemannie? Or is it US time here at KVR?

Post

V'ger ... if you find it in your plugins folder, it will either be titled Flex-N-Stein 4 or Flex-N-Stein 4.01 :) ... cheers in advance for uploading your presets.

... oh, 4.01 has red numbers in the middle of the large 'manual' and 'lfo' controls ... 4 doesn't.

... err any more votes?? :)

Listening to all the songs now - very good entries so far - you should all be proud. This will take me a bit of time to decide.

I've uploaded a snare, hat and kik preset to that folder .... they will not sound great on their own, but my advice is to do things in the following order.
Set note length in your piano roll or whatever, roughly for now.
Eq, and do a little compression
re-adjust note length, eq and compresssion, then add a bit of reverb.
Now go tweak the synth controls .... you will find shifting the LFO delay on the snare patch will throw out a range of sound characters.

OK, so I have listened and re-listened. My voting criteria was on originality, what you did with one synth (preset choice) and overall likeability.

Bits 'n Pieces - Yeager = 10 points
The Flexorcist - tattiemannie = 5 points
Flex-n-Dance - Totolitoto = 3 points
Flex-n-stramash - tattliemannie = 2 points
Flex 'n Morph - V'ger = 1 point

... ha ha, I see you edited your post .... I still think OSCers who missed it need to know that you placed every single track from 1 to 17!!!! .... collossal effort! :)

I'll go edit my post now :hihi:

V'ger, in response to your query re. 'time' .... I go with KVR time .. as appears on posts. So 'today' ends at 8am GMT/UK time on the following day.
This can be handy in ascertaining whether votes/posts etc have met the deadline ... but then again, I'm not one for snapping my fingers at folks, so I generally call time on things as soon after 8am as I can drag my arse out of bed and get the PC fired up :)

I do however usually schedule deadlines for days when the kids will be going to school so I dont have a great deal of choice in the matter, so it's best to meet the deadlines according to KVR time.

It still beats the old poll system where I would never be sure how the voting period was calculated by KVR time .. and would either dish out the congrats ahead of closure, or hold off for a day or two just to make sure the poll was actually closed :hihi:

Post

.... and so, plenty time still to vote! :)

Great! It means I have plenty of time to sink further down in the final results :P :hihi: I sure hope there's gonna be a lot of passing prizes down here...

TBH, you were pretty high on my list. I thought your entry was excellent, but there were 5 songs before yours.

Don't take it so hard and keep making new songs. Never give up.

Thanks :) If there's one thing Italians do have, is a hard head, don't worry

Ok, I uploaded my drum pack. It's 4.0 version, but I loaded and tweaked them in v4.01 too and it looks like they're rather cross compatible between versions.

.... Well, anyway .... that's the lad off to school, and I'm looking out the window as i boil the kettle again, to see that the winter darkness has lifted, and it now looks more like a new day than a continuation of the night.

... Why exactly do we set our clocks to start a new day in the dead of night?? Crazy! .... wouldnt it be better to get up at 00.00am and enjoy that feeling of having a whole day ahead of us? :)

.... well maybe thats another good reason to do things by KVR time .... if you live in a part of the world where that fits with the 'real' start of your day of course.

Anyway, enough waffle .... the competition is over! .. and there's no need to count up and update the chart in order to ascertain that we have a winner!! ....

And that all conquering high flyer is V'ger

Congratulations V'ger, excellent piece of work, very well deserved ....  :tu: :band: :band2: :harp: :hyper:   :wheee: :) :)
