Not for a number of us... don't worry about it, all software has bugs! It's tough to get things working on so many different configurations. We'll get to the bottom of it with Allen's help :) certainly could be user error.
Again the software DOES work as long as it doesn't have a problem with a file from either partial download OR apparently it DOES have an issue with the added html file. That was just put in the other day as an extra copy of the license. It is being taken out because it isn't necessary and on top apparently the Lib installer doesn't like to see an html file in the zip. Who knew?

That's not really a bug in the software but rather a rule we didn't know of with regard to files it likes and doesn't like. We had this custom made for us by Bernard of CDXtract. He didn't give us a full handbook of what you could do and not do so if we try anything different than the norm we have to find out the hard way... so we're just going to stick to the norm. Who would have thought an html file would mess anything up? Not me.

Anyway, we're on it like flies on a rib roast. It'll be fixed within the hour. I'd hold off downloads and your download sizes from anything downloaded in the lalst 2 days won't match what it is shown now that we take the file out. Your previous downloads should be about 1777 larger than what it will show with it out. But if you redownload it after it is done it will match.

Sorry about this. It seems to be one thing after another but it is importnat to keep some constants clear. The INFINITE LIBRARY INSTALLER DOES WORK! That is not the problem. It's picky though. The answer? Simple. Any kits that have a problem you can start redownloading the problem kits in about an hour and it should be fine. OR if you need help you can contact Allen.

The second one, install the infinite player and kontakt player 2 at the same time, and it appears to be installed successfully.

.

You get to install the second one on a Mac? That is impossible! ".exe" is an executable file for Windows OS. They don't work on Mac.

So just recheck once what you are actually doing there.
Scroll the image to the right. You'll see the "vise X" icon. That's the setup for mac, and I'm pretty sure I installed it from there.

Accessing User Guides in Kontakt 3.5 (and 4?)

Have you noticed the ... \Infinite Player\Documentation folder on your disk? [That folder was created by the original IP installation, but I would think that this IP installer creates it too.)

Put your Kontakt and Drum Masters manuals and the iMap pic in there. Then you can access them quickly from the button in the Kontakt Browser, Libraries tab:

PS: I drop the rar files right into the IP installer, someone asked it I was useing winrar..NO, I just drop the files into the IP!!
They're ZIP files. Not RAR files which are a different format. RAR does not work with the Infinite Library Installer. But ZIP (made on PC) does.

The Infinite Library Installer does work. It sucks when people say to others that it doesn't work just because it wasn't working for them and then others might think it is faulty. That doesn't mean it is. It could be human error on your end or internet issues with incomplete downloads (most likely). Best solution is to either download and again and make sure the sizes match up to what you see (and don't unzip kits - drag and drop them zipped onto the Lib installer). You can follow the Easy Step Guide - something special you have to do for Windows Vista and 7 - it is in the guide. Allen also posted it in here. Or you can contact Allen for help.

Once you get going with it you'll find it to not only work well but actually a very EASY way to get sounds added to a virtual instrument. So hang in there!
Never said it did not work, just followed another users advice and it worked. and just so you know. every kit you have up so far installed PERFECT for me when they were RAR..EVERY ONE, except the gretch kit. SO...I will make sure winrar is off from now on but it DID work for every other kit so you cant really say the IP installer WILL NOT work with them...And just to make it known I NEVER SAID THE IP INSTALLER did not work, it must have been some one else...But thanks for your help anyway..winrara is OFF so it should be smooth sailing from here!!

Dooh!

I'm sorry! :dog:

Yeah,

that one did install!

I'm wondering why you could find two different installations though.

There was an early comment from Dave, saying that some users got a Link to Version 2 of KP instead of version 3.5...

Anyway:

The first file must be the correct one. It is what I downloaded the first time. Size matches. It had the infinite player installer (with acoustic piano in it) and the libary installer programm in it.

Here's what i did:
I downloaded the files with "downthemall" in firefox. I don't know if it was a zip or rar file. if de-zipped i used the standard application of OS X and if rar i sure did use "Unrar".

What probably happened is, that either your download got corrupted or the archive programm did mess up the extraction. So you might have to reload the whole enchilada again, or just try a different archiver app.

Then you need KP 3.5 which is a separate download either from a link from within the upper portion of your download site witthin your account on esoundz or from NI directly.
doh!!

Well, the first time I received the redeem code in esoundz download area to get the infinite player, I got the second one(the "vise x" icon and kontakt player 2). Than in my downloadablesounds.com appeared the infinite player to download, and that was the first one(the one that works for you).

I did what you did, downloadthemall too.

maybe the problem is with my mac os version(10.4). Which is yours, by the way?

ps: the kontakt player 3.5 download from esoundz didn't work either. I talked to a member of vdrums.com and than he sent me a new link for kontakt 3.5 withou library, that worked.

i'm on 10.5. I don't think, that really matters. Anyway, you need to download and install the infinite player otherwise you won't be able to authorize the library.

I would just download that file again. I figure , your download might just have been corrupted and is not a problem of 10.4. Kp 3.5 is officially supported under 10.4 and the Player Infinite Player is just in extension to it, i think.

One thing though:

If you tried to install the Infinite Player prior to installing Kontakt Player at all or Kontakt Player 3, the installation might not work. Could be the installation routine is specifically looking for it. I can't tell you for sure though, because i had Kontakt installed before already.

You might give it another try with 3.5 installed.

Sorry I started off quoting you and ended responding in general to anyone saying it wasn't working. Wasn't working for them because of the files, not because of bugs. I didn't want ppl to think it was faulty. Just picky. But interesting if it worked with RARS. Hit and miss I guess. But it is meant to work with zips of a certain source on PC.

I finally got around to installing everything, and I'm having a little problem. I seem to be missing a file: DrumMasters_GUI_S-Generic3.tga

The new kits will not load. Kontakt says it is searching for the .tga file, but it can't find it. I did a file search, and couldn't find it either.

Incidentally, Drum Masters and OWD still load and play.

I'll write Allen tomorrow, but I thought somebody here may know what I did wrong.

In WinXP, I just associated zip files with WinRar using it's options menu. The file extension isn't changed but the icon displayed in explorer becomes a Rar one. I'd guess the Infinite Installer does see the normal zip file - though I have seen some wierdness in the past with WinRar being too "enthusiastic" when non Rar types are associated.

BTW - no issues with tgas in any of the phase 2 files :)

Thanks for your reply DarkStar! I appreciate the help :) Answers are below:
DarkStar wrote:When you get the "Sample Missing" window - what path name does Kontakt expect the files to be in?

DarkStar wrote:And what is the path name of the .nkx file?
Path name is "Infinite Player/Samples/IP_Chicago ST Kit.nkx"
DarkStar wrote:Is the installed .nkx file the same size as the .nkx file within the .zip file?
The .nkx file is 298MB on my hard drive and approx. 305MB within the .zip file. When I manually unzip the file, it is also 298MB.
DarkStar wrote:What happens when you browse to the folder containing the .nkx file?
I am able to browse for and find the file "IP_Chicago ST Kit.nkx" but when I select it, I get this (weird!):

Who is the Duke kit modelled after?

Post

I'm stumped:
-- but the .nkx file should be bigger when unzipped, yours is smaller
-- when you Browse for the missing samples, you browse to the folder "Infinite Player/Samples", not to the .nkx (I think)

If you haven't done so already, you might try a reinstall - make sure you get the latest version of the Library installer from www.sonicreality.com Downloads page (you need to register there and be logged in).

Trust me..I will make sure from now on that the files are not RAR..but the IP player did load all but the gratch!! Guess I got lucky!!!
