Yes Sir K-Bee!
Getten down & dirty with da funk ya'll!
Brings back some fond memories. No wait, I can't remember back then-too high? lol
I like the swing groove you got going on there-nice changes-the tonality could be a little less canned-perhaps some saturation. Nice guitar comping!
Thanks for sharing!!!

Thank you Chuck!
As you know I do value your opinion a lot so I'd like you to elaborate a bit...what exactly do you mean by "canned tonality"?
I'm not sure I get it

hehe, it's just a SampleTank preset and a rather random pattern. I'm not fooling the guitarist now am I?any1particular wrote: Nice guitar comping!

I'm not sure how to explain canned? I guess it might be explained as too clean & perfect sounding. Of course these matters are totally subjective-is blue prettier than red etc. The comment was not meant to be malicious-just some constructive criticism.
Saturation is what tubes do to give sound natural harmonics and warmth.
I suppose canned could mean cold as in digital (vs analogue (warm)).
Much of my own music sounds canned to me-something I try to avoid.
Another example might be the difference between plugging a guitar directly into a sound board-super clean and super sterile. Typically we use distortion/saturation to give life and warmth to the signal-as you already know I'm sure.
I don't know what I'm talking about really but.....just a thought...
Anyhow-NICE TRACK!

Well that was actually the sound I was going for. You know that late 80s very MIDI-like digital sound made popular by a lot of smooth jazzers (Like the GRP records and/or Optimism Inc. artist roster at the time.any1particular wrote:Hey K-Bee.

Cold and digital is my specialtyany1particular wrote:I suppose canned could mean cold as in digital (vs analogue (warm)).
Somebody has to do it you know, especially with the current analog warmth obsession.
With the risk of being fried alive and banned...the only analog thing in my book is an acoustic instrument. there! I said it (I know my definition is way wrong though)
