It does seem so. Would be great. I'll ask on the Gearslutz thread.whyterabbyt wrote:is it me or does it read like its $99 for the upgrade to v4 of the Bundle, which may actually include more than just Decapitor (ie possibly also PanMan and maybe FlangeThing)Shy wrote:For me it's $99, so will you eat your hat?

I certainly hope the $99 includes more than just Decapitator for its value. I can't imagine any improvements being made to any the existing plugins, although I suppose more emulations under the hood would add to the value, even if such additions are unnecessary. PanMan would be good. I'm not yet aware of this FlangeThing, but I am interested.whyterabbyt wrote:is it me or does it read like its $99 for the upgrade to v4 of the Bundle, which may actually include more than just Decapitor (ie possibly also PanMan and maybe FlangeThing)Shy wrote:For me it's $99, so will you eat your hat?

yo don't think Decapitator alone is worth $99 if that was the only addition to the package? What would you think if they just added decapatitor is a fair price?

I absolutely love all my SoundToys plugins and consider them to be among the best in my collection. To tell you the truth, I haven't yet tried out the Decapitator beta... but I have no doubt that I am going to love it and it will become another one of my favorite essential tools. Nevertheless, if I am going to spend $99 to upgrade an already next-to-perfect library, I hope I will get a few additional tasty treats to make it a total no-brainer.zvenx wrote:yo don't think Decapitator alone is worth $99 if that was the only addition to the package? But you're probably right in suggesting that Decapitator *WILL* be enough to justify the $99, even if that is all that there is.

difficult to say, given that the bundle price isnt changing overall for new buyers...zvenx wrote:yo don't think Decapitator alone is worth $99 if that was the only addition to the package? What would you think if they just added decapatitor is a fair price?

I just checked this out: it seems that (at least on MY system...) FL (checked on both 8 & 9) chokes on Soundtoys plugs...Thought at first it may be an ilok related thing maybe...tested SPL Attacker, Speakerphone and BT Analog Track Box and none of them choked in either FL8 or 9.audiosabre wrote: ...btw, does this freak out anyones sequencer? I'm using FL9 and once I press the punish button it 'freaks out' my DAW in that all meters slow down and the GUI becomes slow to refresh/respond. My CPU and RAM count are low, so it has nothing to do with the limitations of my top of the range system. I know it's a beta, but that's a serious issue...
Me thinks it's a Soundtoys vs FL studio problem...
I'm gonna report it on the beta later, John... but it may not hurt if you do as well

I haven't tried Decapitator, but i don't have any problems in FL Studio 8 (haven't had a chance to update to 9 yet) with the rest of the plugs from the native bundle. I did have to set them to use fixed size buffers though. Have you tried that?blortblort wrote:I just checked this out: it seems that (at least on MY system...) once I figured out *where* to go to set the buffers to fixed (scnnr wrote:I haven't tried Decapitator, but i don't have any problems in FL Studio 8 (haven't had a chance to update to 9 yet) with the rest of the plugs from the native bundle. Hope that fixed buffer trick works for John's system too!
though you probably know this, John-
just go to the little "gear" icon on the top left of the FL wrapper on Decapitator, go to the settings tab and select "fixed buffer" processing...
cleared it right up for me on all Soundtoys plugs!
Thanks a bunch scnnr

I've since figured it's nothing to do with the punish button. I can make it stop on my machine by tweaking the dry/wet knob. Does this work for you?
I tried using fixed size buffers and also switching the multithread option, but the only thing that stops it running slow is moving the dry/wet knob.
I'm using win7 64-bit, FL9.03.

glad to help
One more tip for FL now that you got it working, it's a real pain in the neck to select presets, you can't use FL preset management and the plugs don't have preset browser. You can use "load preset" from the wrapper menu but that's not convenient at all if you want to flick through presets. What you can do instead is to create a shortcut to folders containing all the presets (separate for each plugin) in the browser, then once you expand it you can drag a preset and drop it on a little icon that looks like folder in the wrapper. This is FL8, not sure about 9.

I can confirm the graphical slowdown in Cubase 4 on my system as well. I had this problem with the demo version of the Bundle and all Waves plug-ins as well, so it's something with the coding of the UI. FYI, I have other ilok'ed plug-ins that DON'T cause this issue, so I'm pretty sure it's not the CP's fault.

Out of curiosity, does moving the dry/wet knob (by a large amount) make it stop?pandashake wrote:I can confirm the graphical slowdown in Cubase 4 on my system as well. As long as it's not 100% wet, it works fine. Now, if I have it at 100% wet and then engage the Punish button, it works as well. As soon as I turn off the Punish button, it slows down again.audiosabre wrote:Out of curiosity, does moving the dry/wet knob (by a large amount) make it stop?pandashake wrote:I can confirm the graphical slowdown in Cubase 4 on my system as well.
