So $200 off full price (well over a 50% discount) is a slap in the face? You must have very sensitive cheeks. :?

I'll happily pre-order at $149 and use the Jampoints for something else.

is there a date for pre-order cut off yet?

I assume standalone Ampeg SVX and Fender are going to get the whole VRM cab/mic modeling upgrade, too. Will they be paid upgrades as well?

I hope IK adds some guitar amps to Ampeg SVX, perhaps the VL-503.
And perhaps they could add the Bassman bright channel to Fender.
If you can move mics all around now in the cab section, why not be able to move the cable from the Normal jack to the Bright jack in the amp section for the Bassman?

BTW, just to keep things in perspective here...

The average upgrade discount for plugins is probably between 40-60% off for owners of the previous version. IK's non-discounted upgrade price for owners of any of the AT2 products is about 43% off. If you can pre-order it for $149, then the discount is over 50%.

How is that anything other than IKMM having listened to customer feedback, and giving them exactly what they asked for? They did the right thing here.

And if you think I'm an IKMM fanboi, take a look in the original T-Racks 3 thread where I spent just about every post commenting on IK's awful crossgrade with no upgrade policy. I've been very extremely vocal and have had harsh words towards IK regarding how they've treated loyal customers poorly over the years (I've been on KVR a long time) and this is definitely them making up for it in my eyes.

So, some perspective. Please...

I just wonder if the distorted sounds are still so horribly noisy like in AT 2. Has anyone heard it yet?

Yes, when you already have spent, like, $700-800 on the complete AT package. And a few months later one can pick it up for $199.

I guess it is better to wait a few months for the next group buy and get AT3 for $99.

But what? I already own all their plugins (except Miroslav, which I have no interest in).

I would *speculate* ... (Edited per below update).

You can use Jam Points for up to 50% of the price -- meaning some could get it for as low as $99.50 if you had enough points. That's about the price of a hardware stomp pedal and a fair deal for this upgrade if you spent enough to earn that many points.

New models of Vox, Orange, GK, Acoustic, Trace Elliot, Roland, another Mesa ... you can start calling me the Fanboi!

Exactly my thoughts. :tu:
Not even that cable would be needed, separate volumes would be just fine imho.

That's nothing compared to all the sweet new uh... Peaveys... you get with the ReValver update... :P

So, obviously this looks very, very intriguing. AT2 is already my fave AMP SIM package out there... this only makes it better.

But, I heard about 4 seconds of the LESLIE and got very excited (I was almost blown away).... I can't wait to hear more of this effect.....

If it's good and realistic, it alone is worth the price of the upgrade to me.

I'm totally sold on this one. Right price, right product.

I have several amp sims and I consider IK the best. The new drag and drop is a big thing for me -- doesn't seem like much, but an easier GUI increases my experimentation to find the right sound.

The improved attribute menu will also be great. Having all the AT products, it's become quite the search scroll thru the huge list of presets.

As primarily a bassist & keyboardist, the new bass models are very welcomed. I don't know anyone else with the bass amp variety.

Wishlist: an easy way to add a third party pluggin in the middle of the signal chain -- especially in standalone. There's a DAW workaround (AT -> 3rd pary effect -> second instance of AT), but it would be nice to just insert. What would I insert? For bass: the T-Racks vintage 670 compressor for starters. But also many non-guitar types of VST effects.

OK to catch up on a couple of things... The preorder cutoff is end of February. There is also going to be a special incentive for those that purchased AmpliTube 2, Metal, and Hendrix so those who spent hundreds before promos came out should get some love too!

Emails are not going out all at once, there are a LOT of emails to be sent. If you still don't have one in th enext day or two let me know.

Thanks!

Peter,

I have every AT2 offering and bought them all as soon as they came out... I have $134 Jam $ (whatever they are)......

So, when and how much will this upgrade set me back?

Thanks,
Jim
