Afair I once posted an Eagles inspired setting somewhere, see if I can dig it up for you.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:I never got into that one. Any advice for getting a good sound out of it?susiwong wrote:Don't forget the THD, still one of the best amp models I've heard, anywhere.
Anyway, I like the combination THD pre/Vox poweramp quite a lot, too.
Give them a try, they are the closest to my EL84 amps I've found yet itb, not 100% but really close. There is a certain magic to EL84s on the edge of breaking up ...
You play a Jazzmaster ? You absolutely have to try it with a simple little EL84 amp - amazing !
Cheers,
susiwong
edit :
I've found it.
No amp settings unfortunately, but nothing out of the ordinary, set for a light bright crunch, and use a darker OD for lead.[optional OD] > THD BiValve > 112 cab > [optional EQ] > delay (300ms to 450ms, 2 to 4 repeats, HP and LP) > epicVerb (M Classic Plate, mix < 20%)
for an Eagles style lead sound (think Hotel California, One Of These Nights etc)
Also experiment with the Vox power amp (Class A EL84) for variation.
Don't overdo the FX.
This was the thread btw, some good ideas there !

I'll give that setup a shot. I don't just play a Jazzmaster, but I'm a definitely a Fender guy. I've got a Strat with Area pickups, a Tele with Area-T pickups, a Jazzmaster with Duncan Antiquity's, a Tele Deluxe reissue upgraded with 500k pots, an Epi Les Paul with Gibson Classic Plus pickups, and an Agile electric 12-string (not mentioning the Jazz Bass and Squire P-bass, both with uprgaded pickups, or my two acoustic guitars). Ultimately, I consider myself more of a Fender player than anything else, but I do like to have a little bit of everything.susiwong wrote:Afair I once posted an Eagles inspired setting somewhere, see if I can dig it up for you.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:I never got into that one. We've applied what was learned to make AT Fender what it is to everything that's included in AT3. There are definitely improvements in the modeling methodology that can help even the ones that were already very good.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Peter, thanks again for the Stealthboard pics! So looking at the model list, does this mean that the original AT2 amps in this new package have been remodelled? I'm specifically looking at things like the AC30, JCM800, Supro, Tube Screamer, etc. I was under the impression from previous comments that they would be, but the old GUI's and the sheer amount of gear lead me to believe maybe not (besides, the original AT2 Super Reverb sounded pretty sweet).

Ampeg is great, I personally love the SVT-4 Pro with the compression knob and tone shaping with the EQ. Play with that a while, let your ears guide you.speachmusic wrote:Any advise on good set ups for bass? I have ampeg too.

AmpliTube 3 has some nice bass stuff too - my faves are the thunderous 360 which is literally ALL low end. Sick. And the Trace Elliot is more of a tone shaping tweakable model.

Wow, Peter, that's the biggest AT3 news imaginable, wouldn't have expected that.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: We've applied what was learned to make AT Fender what it is to everything that's included in AT3. Coupled with the new cabs ...
It's not like the old amps were bad, in fact I enjoy a few combinations a lot, the Super, the Hendrix Plexi, the THD and so on, with a little loving care applied those sleepers will be just as exciting as the new models to me.
I can hardly imagine the amount of work you guys have put into this.
AT3 will be big, bigger than the Beatles, as Joe Diffie once said.
So I can't wait for a demo, like everybody else.
Cheers,
susiwong

Demo? You'll need a Syncrosoft key for that. Just kidding
Another day here, getting ready to head to the booth and meet some more great people and hopefully get to demo AT3 and the StealthBoard for some more nice press folks. I didn't expect to do any but I love it. Let's me talk and play with a guitar in my hand which is how I'm most comfortable.
susiwong - the models are ALL great. I had been sticking to the Orange and a couple of the new ones but then branched out and just love playing through the "oldies" too. Keeping those alive does not describe it, they are more than they were and not just lazy rehashes. Though the news ones definitely excite even the people who spent SO much time working on them... Our "main man" when it comes to modeling these was really excited and emphatic about the Acoustic 360 - "it is ALL bottom end" and the smiling mention of Jaco's use - was great to see. Hopefully the "Jaco 360" preset is one that will stay in there.
We had Serj Tankian of System of a Down give one heck of an interview, watch it on YouTube and you can tell he really likes our stuff and even though Starr interviews well I think even *I* could have worked with Serj because he is gracious and nice and knows what he's talking about. Cool stuff:

Hi Peter,
One of them even came with CSR back then.
So this won't scare me, I'm prepared ...

I'd sell my neighbour's evil grandmother and buy an iLok to be able to demo AT3.
(OK, now I was kidding, but only about the iLok
)
Cheers,
susiwong
Ha, you wouldn't believe I'm currently using 3 of them (with a 4th as a spare) ?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Demo? You'll need a Syncrosoft key for that. Just kidding

I have no timeline for the demo but I'll put that and more StealthBoard specifics on my short list. There's been a lot happening here, I got to give some more demos which and have talked to some great people here.
There are more pics and videos up and more coming.

Personally I don't expect a demo before release day.
But still, it's fun to speculate ...
