I've had Amplitube 2 for quite a while now, and didn't get any email. Is there anywhere on IK's site with this pricing?pipher wrote:Just got an email that owners of previous versions can pre-order the upgrade for $149, $50 off! Nice! Now everyone can stop going on about upgrade pricing and getting taken care of
I had this issue, but it was due to my ignorance as to how Amplitube deals with input gain. I assumed it should have been dialed up so that when I played a chord as hard as is my normal max, I should be getting as close to the red as possible without going into it. Not true. For my audio interface, this is true, but it's confusing in Amplitube. The higher the input the more likely you are to distort the input stage. Which is great, as that's how you can get a good overdriven sound on many types of amps, but on high gain amps this can lead to a lot of noise. Watch how that noise magically goes away when you bring that input level way down. Use your ears... or The Force. Your choice.Feda wrote:I just wonder if the distorted sounds are still so horribly noisy like in AT 2. Has anyone heard it yet?
While I agree with you about the cabinets I disagree with you on having AT being able to sub-host other VSTs like Revalver does. I've invested a fair amount of money in high quality effect VSTs that are very specialized to the point where they wouldn't make sense to include in a guitar amp sim package, but are perfect for how I use a guitar amp sim. For instance, I'd poop out a statue of the pope if I could get a VST insert stomp box module in Amplitube so I can place say Camelphat after a fuzz stomp or a Rack VST insert module so I could put it post cab but before other rack effects.redshift factor wrote: And then there is the fact that AmpliTube is a work of art.
Loading impulses and SynthEdit plugins you downloaded off the net would destroy its integrity and unique identity.
You see it as more options. I understand where you are coming from.
But I see it as diminishing AmpliTube's cachet.
The $50 will come in email to registered users, and there are a LOT going out so give it a little time. You'll have until the end of February to use it. The official upgrading pricing for "the rest of the world" should be in the official releases that have been posted/quoted.DocAtlas wrote:I've had Amplitube 2 for quite a while now, and didn't get any email. No offense intended, but you're not really trying very hard at this, are you? A few clicks from that page gets you a lot of information. Over 160 pieces of gear, including more than 30 new models; everything that has come before being redone with the post-AT:Fender era technology. More advanced cabinet simulation, more advanced signal processing, highly improved MIDI functionality. Etc. Browse a bit and no spoon feeding will be necessarysinzero wrote:that's too general and seems not worth the upgarde.
