Hi!

I have some questions about what you K-v-R people wants (Samples) so i'm posting this poll.

Best regards,

I put other and stipulating here in the thread – I would like a few acoustic ones – with no fx or processing – straight off the mic. that can be re-synthesised and given away free from my site within instrument patches - But the original recording of the sample needs to come from the original artist and not ripped off of someone else – in return I will advertise you at both sites of mine.

Not easy to find original artists – do you record your own stuff? How and where do you get your samples?

Best regards,

Not much I want for these days. A nice acoustic guitar that's multisampled and wasn't super expensive would be nice. Harp would be nice too. But beyond that, I always enjoy analog synth stuff that's done WELL like Atmosphere and Trilogy for synthetic. We're flooded in drums, pianos, strings, and orch stuff now. Oh, a nice hammer dulcimer would be cool too.

My vote for "something else" is a vote for "all of the above".I don't think that a sample library,like any library that serves a living mind,can ever be finshed.At the moment,I am looking for drums,and I always have an eye out for ethnic percussion.I am less interested in synth samples,I'd rather use a synth.Not being wholly satisfied with my current orchestral sounds,and unable to justify the money for any of the new mega collections,I'm looking at GPO,which brings me to the other issue,rompler vs library.
In hardware,it's a no-brainer:your best bet for diversity of sound is to get a sampler and keep buying libraries;more bang for the buck,because most libraries are larger and cheaper than rom cards.
But in the virtual instrument world,these distinctions are blurred somewhat,and the price-performance ratios of libraries and library-instruments are much closer.There is also the question of what creative potential exists within the synth engines of the romplers;for example,how much of Kontakt's sound-mangling do I get if I go for a Kontakt-powered library-instrument?On the other hand,as good as Atmosphere,Sonic Synth or PlugSound might sound,they are vanilla in terms of sound design potential,so,am I just as well off simply programming my own patches in VSampler and shopping for the best sounds to voice that more competant synthesis section?
I do know that I'm probably going to be getting the Dash Signatures bundle deal;the economics are clear and EVE will be of much more use than another collection of vintage keyboard sounds.Otherwise,Drums are the priority now,but who knows what next?I just bring up the instrument vs library issue to deepen the discussion,and see what other folks are thinking.

I voted for acoustic instruments. For electronic stuff, I feel that keeping electronics electronic is the way to go. VSTis are great for synths and synthetic drums. Acoustic drums are everywhere, but more is fine. I also think that taking objects and turning them into percussion is pretty cool, too.

I'm really happy with your accordion set. It sounds really nice.

I voted for: "Drumloops/Percussionloops Acoustic"

After I got into beatslicing in Muzys, this has been the preferred way of working with drums for me :)
In a away you get an instant acoustic kit and it's easy to work with it, modifying the sequence to your own liking and in MuZynth, you can use the mod matrix to control just about anything, random pan, random lpf cutoff, etc... :love:

A bit OT, but I recently tried out PowerFX SoundShuttle since they offer 5 free credits there with the Computer Music disc .. there's some pretty nice loops in there :)

If anyone wants to recommend / advertise a good drum/percussion loop sample CD, i'm here for you :D

VOCALS!!!

More so now than ever seeings as Vocaloid's a non starter...(My hopes have been completely dashed..for now.)

Gimme vocals or else I'll sing myself...And you really don't want that!!!

I’m looking for god choir sounds like "Enya" kind of multisamples.

Post

yes I vote for vocals too

I'd like some airy, angelic female vocals.. ahh's ooh's laa's from women of various voices and vocal abilities.

...fairly long multisamples not just one or two samples stretched across the pianoroll. :)

Post

I voted for Sound Effects. It is easy to find most of the other choices.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

We record our own stuff in 2 different studios. For example; The Treated Drums series is recorded and tweaked by a Swedish music production team and the Weltmeister Accordion is recorded and edited by me in my studio.

About choir samples;

There is a studio recorded choir production in development from us now with the working name "angelic vocal pads"

pough;

I’m glad that you liked the Weltmeister Accordion :)

Vocals definately but absolutely not more angelic choirs. Surely we are knee deep in choir pads and ethereal Ooohs, Mmmms and Aaahs and dont need any more. Well thats my opinion anyway.

Sonic Foundry did a library called Ilona (I think) whicj was a solo female vocal just doing phrases. Id like to see more stuff like that.
