Another nice site is Hollow Sun:

I already realized this but it's writen that those are wav files so no programs included. BTW some of the sample sets from the site contain patches for Kontakt and other sampler but that are only a few.states wrote:i purchased the JP6-8, Korg700, CS80 and PPG packs yesterday. although most of the samples are indeed nice and accurate, there's a great of work involved in key-mapping and looping them one by one....
stay clear, unless you have a lot of time in your hands and a great deal of patience (which i don't..) I just wish i'd been forewarned.
Thanks for your reply. I just can say i am not sure if the producer had a permission for the samples or if it is even necessary. In the case of the JD-800 the samples contain factory patches for sure.Lotuzia wrote:Hi Ingo,
Yes good find though I wonder about the legal implications of at least a -big- part of the soundsets.
Afaik distributing samples of factory libraries instruments and sample content of synths like Roland D50, Yamaha Motif aso is not legal unless they got permission to do so by the brands themselves, wich is not mentioned on the site.
So maybe they did their own presets, and then sampled them, but maybe not.
Atm I'd say that there's at least some questions who deserved to have answers.
And for those who dig that old sound, but wish to be certain to go the legal way, I'll just mention Scot Solida's Electronic Garden ARP sample set, wich is very affordable.

I could suggest that if he used the gear for sampling he was also able to do his own photos which should be legal then. On the other side i will not try to check if all those photos are legal or not...monkeyweasel wrote:i also wonder about the legality of the imagery used on the sample packs. scrolling thru the drum kits section, aside from all the generic big booty shots that could be from anywhere, i can see a couple of images which i know are copyrighted and yet its unlikely it'd be worth licensing their use for a product that's priced so low.
of course, the producer might have paid out to use them, rather than just scanning from book/CD covers, and tbh it doesnt bother me too much either way, but i thought this observation could be of interest to anyone concerned about the overall legitimacy of this site...
I was thinking the same thing.Lotuzia wrote:...I wonder about the legal implications of at least a -big- part of the soundsets.

Thanks! Sounds good! Please let us in on his answer.Ingonator wrote:I just wrote an email to "wildstyle24" for a comment. Let's see...

It would be interesting to call Korg, Roland, and Yamaha to ask them, too.
It should be fine to sample analog synths with your settings, but not romplers (based off of samples), also bad to sample factory presets, etc. - as has been mentioned.
There are many great developers out there doing high quality legal products, which we should support instead. HollowSun, that you mention - being one of them.
Anyway, thanks for the links and good intentions with sharing this with us.
