Outstanding work, love it. I don't play Elder Scrolls games so I don't know what's the standard but it sounds to me like this music suits the genre perfectly. :tu:

Hey Simon,

I think the first track is super for what you were going for, excellent track for "exploring", colourful and playful. I play a lot of RPGs and this would fit in perfectly.

The second track basically okay, but the violins are too annoying for my ears, and especially since this is meant as battle music, I say lose the violins and go for more deep, punchy, battle-ish instrumentation. Less long notes, more short bursts of brass, etc. Maybe that's cliché, so you might pick something else, but definitely get rid of the violins.

But all in all, good job. You might be new to computer music, but certainly not to composing, right? Are you studying an instrument?

Cheers

Two thumbs up!

'Tis nice to hear this kind of quality here at KVR.

I 'm wondering what you're using for piano? Is that the Garritan Steinway?

Do you like Garritan 3? Why only the harps?

Freeware instruments for Kontact? Where does one find those?

Thanks for sharing!

 Thank you!
Elder Scrolls games
Yay! Your right, it's an elderscrolls game :3. But one with a lot of story involved now.

Hm... i know what you mean... after hearing it nearly 1000 times, i think there is something about the violins... But the Problem is its the "Endfight"-so not not just a normal Bossfight is should have been dramatic, it kind of marks the End of the Game. (unfortually i don't have any choir..)

Arr... well i'm 21 years old and study "Kommunikationsdesign" (Which is: Graphic-Design, Photo, Arts and little bit of Film-making). But no music...
I had piano lessons years ago (like with 12-14 ore something), but it was no fun. So i quit. I just started playing piano 3 years ago. But i don't play from notation. I just do "my own". And it's getting better and better :3 I find it really easy to play by hearing stuff rather than reading.

No i used this one: http://www.acousticsamples.net/index.ph ... 87ad749b8a - the AcademicGrand from AcousticsampleS.

I bougt garritan 3 together with cubase studio 5 (which was comming with halion symphonic orchestra...) So... garritan has things to complete this other orchestra like: The Harps (Normal, Glissandi and Harmonics), and the Organ. Pretty much things which aren't that much in need of velocity layers. I have the Kirk Hunter Concert Chellos, but i only do use the sustains, becouse the stacatto, spicatto and pizzicato are... non velocity layered which sounds not good. The Halion Symphonic orchestra has at last 4-6 samples (on this articuations) per key (velocity and round-robin-like), i don't know the exact amount, but it sounds way better :3 So the three orchestras are helping each other in some way.

The Hangdrum: http://www.andreasbick.de/de/downloads/film_music/
G-town-projekt: http://www.realraptalk.com/f176/g-town- ... av-296495/ (quik google, haven't tested if download works)
And there is allways: freesound.org which has more than yust "samples". There are entirely multisampled instruments avaiable....
Even: Cellos, Violins, Pianos, Guitars, Churchbellensemples, Gamellan etcetc.

First track : Kudos :tu:

Nice evolution, cool moments and evocative, ethereal atmospheres.

Note : I just totally disliked the ultra colored piano reverb (probably only me but I would have prefered a standard and more precise, discrete hall verb)

Second track : My guess is that you were confronted to a lack of the needed "right" instruments for it. The orchestral snare is not so precise. Bass register is a bit muddy, and you could probably achieve some much better results with taking care of the volume of the sustained strings. Its quite rare is this kind of orchestral works to have strings maintenaing the same level of sustain for all notes and all registers. Doesnt help to distinguish them in the mix and to give movements to the all track.

Somebody mentioned brass stabs and forte, and well my own perception is that it could be nice to insert some at some points, as well as maybe trying to use woodwind sect instead of hi stings sometimes ( especially in the cooler parts ) as it will then give contrast with the more epic parts.

Well just my 0.002 cents here

Anwyay thanks for these musical moments. I wait for more ^^

Brass Stabs... i know what you think, but i don't have any "good" ones. The Normal Brass sounds are just not "angry" enough. Would have liked some "rising growl" sounds...

I think i will overwork the second Track, adding some other Instruments and get rid of some of the Strings (But i do like the slower part before the uprising at the End of the Track ^.-)
