Ill be honest, not at all big on that GUI. Its like Stargate and a movie house from 1940's Germany had a love child. Hope it sounds nice.

Thanks to everyone who replied with their very positive comments.

Just wanted to give you a small update.

I have managed to get this in the latest edition of Computer Music Magazine (albiet on the letters page) where the editor's comment was to invite JMJ to get in touch and let them know what he thinks!

Considering that he is a very busy man (especially at the moment) if that actually happens I will be in my own personal heaven!

Meanwhile I am most interested in designing some more, and I have a few ideas, but as ever they will have to fit around the day-job . . .

I know nothing about GUI design or developing VSTi, but I'm sure that there must be more involved (in putting the two together) than just presenting the devoloper with an image.

Well, from December, I'm going to have a go myself. Creating a synth. At some point I shall have to take into account the GUI and if I'm struggling I'll give you all a shout.

Anyway I hope this thread leads Steven into new areas. BHWBDMG.

nice concept! but not good fonts work.
title "JARRE SYNTH" looks very ugly. also other fonts effects are creepy. and textures are a bit dirty. this mockup needs some tuning, but anyway it is very nice.

Here is the REAL Jarre synth and it has a nice GUI too:

JMJ uses this to replace his broken Quadra currently...

Before the OP designs another GUI he should maybe to a synth first. That GUI is not so great that i "fall of my chair" anyway. Just my opinion of course.
Anyway the easiest way to make a synth from that could be to use the scripting engine of Kontakt 4 and of course you need a bunch of high quality samples.

I like it,it has a gothic sort of feel to it-It looks like something 'The evil Dreyfus' would play out of the Return of the Pink panther.
I have suggested to the op that if he wants to have a go skinning one of my synths I make in the future he is welcome to do so.
