Many electro music sound seems Virus.

I recommend NWsynth, Kinisis, Largo, Zebra, Z3ta

and I recommed SynthMaster2 for hardware sound
and Voyager with flavours's GUI

Those synths has fat, rough and dry sound
I like music

THIS IS NOT ELECTRO!!! :x  :x
the first vid is eurotarnce, the second sounds like commerce house! Try to label the stuff right if you're asking something!

(here's an Electro track just so you know what you're talking about next time!)

Drexciya! yai!
its true electro used to mean underground electronica. in record shops 'electro' was a distinct label for a specific kind of non-mainstream music.
sadly, nowadays, electro just is a substitute for 'hip dance music'. as the word techno used to be.

This is the original Electro Sound!:phones:

The term has been hi-jacked by Electro House, and all the youngsters don't know about the original Electro definition...that's the problem, they think Electro is something else...

Try and do an internet search for 'Electro' sample CD's, you get anything but original Electro samples(808's etc), just Electro House sample sets...

Kraftwerk 'didn't' label the music as Electro...

This is Elektrik Funk - On A Journey, this is where some say the term came from, Electro Funk

Also Afrika Bambaataa labeled his seminal 'Planet Rock' as Electro Funk, and that didn't happen till 1982...that 'Electric Kingdom' was released in 83, only one year later...

Then Street Sounds dropped the word 'Funk' and released the 'Electro' Lp's, these things were the Electro Sound

Electro Funk came from Funk and a fusion with Kraftwerk type sounds, but Kraftwerk where definately not Electro Boogie/Funk as you put it...

Yes I know the music spans back to the 70's, even Juan Atkins was doing stuff back in the 70's, but the term Electro Funk didn't happen till about 1982, and Electro was a shortened version of the latter...

And yes, there was Funk using synths before 1982, but it wasn't called Electro at the time...

And that was the real Electro Sound(Twilight 22), sorry I disagree

BTW, this is no help to the OP

which contains Kraftwerk music...doesnt matter who labelled what does it?

the whole scene is based around Kraftwerk et al music/beats

but arguing over what is or isnt a geniune genre is pointless, unless you really feel the need, in which case you need to get out more (i know i do)

Yes, I totally agree Kraftwerk were the main influence, no I don't need to argue, just Electro didn't begin 'as a genre' till 1982, though yes there was music before that point that had the same/similar sound as Electro/Electro Funk, including Kraftwerk, Juan Atkins and certain funk/new wave bands....so the only part I do disagree with really was that 'Electric Kingdom' was not original Electro...

Yes, If you have got time to make 'Bass Station' clones when Novation has already made one, I would agree you need to get out more, I myself am unemployed at the minute, so I do need to get out more myself, but the weather has been shite...

I'm off for a stroll(well, to the kitchen for a fag) :hihi:

Wow, you guys think a dead genre is quite the serious business.

It's not like it's Punk Rock, or something.

Oh it's not dead! There's still a lot of Electro (Techno) produced! Of course people like you don't know that. Sure, it isn't mainstream like all the horrible stuff that is wrongly labeled as Electro but there's some excellent stuff being released all the time.

Thrash is still being made, but that doesn't make it any less of a dead genre. Also:
