Just so everyone knows, that match recording at top has been around fro a long time.
I've yet to find out how that particular recording was made. I sure wish I knew the technique they used. I know the whole head thing, I know holophonic, I just want to know how they recorded the matches.

I know this thread is quite old but as I've been looking into holophonic recordings, I thought I'd share this 'well known' recording that's widespread on youtube and known as the 'virtual barber'. Apparently it was made by a hearing aid manufacturer to show off their 3d positional algorhythms but I suppose it doesn't really matter where it came from, it is a very good example of the subject.
