I just purchased RMV. Load times for loops seems slower than it should be. Even a preview takes about 5 sec. I've tried it from a fast disk drive and an SSD....same result. While this is not horrible, it does make hunting for loops a tedious process.
Is this normal? Can anything be done?
thanks,
Eddie

It might be normal, more depending on your computers CPU speed than harddrive, as there is not much samples to load. However, when you load a loop, you actually (depending on the loop) load up to 64 instruments, as each slice in RMV acts as an individul instrument, having full control over every aspect, be it filters, envelopes, al kinds of modulation and and and. Preview is not faster as it also needs to load all the instruments, and additionall y save the state you used previously, because when you cancel preview you of course expect RMV to be in its original state again.

Peter,
Thanks for the prompt response. That's what I suspected, but it is a fast 8 core Xeon system. Loading does seem slower that Stylus RMX, which also uses sliced loops.
For an update, you might consider a streaming scenario, where the 1st bits are loaded into ram when you hit preview, and the rest is loaded in sequence as it plays.

We've that on our list, not exactly with streaming, but to otherwise improve the performance at this point.
