Just had a quick go on it there, what a brilliant synthesizer! really takes the tedious scrolling through the menu approach of normal synths. Its quite a shame the genetic parameters cannot be automated though... some may say its like cheating, like making sounds just by moving "Branches" around and that theres no skill behind it? nowadays theres that many presets and things that making your own sound is becoming less heard of thing. id like to hear some opinions on this synth.

i think i know what your talking about, you cant access the patches within the synth it opens a separate window?

too pricey? i think it was like 85 dollars for people that already own microtonic. hopefully one day there will be an x64 update because sometimes it gets a little awkward while operating within jBridge. still a diverse and great sounding synth, though

Yup. I'd just been trying and failing to find a sound I'd liked in Synplant when I saw this topic. f**k knows which bank/package/whatever it was in. A tad frustrating but still a great synth.

You can find 'Plastic Malimba' under the 'Supplementary Folder'.
I did a few searches for the other Preset but it doesn't show up at all.

it is easily, gladly, worth three times what it costs. he should have doubled his asking price, imo.

the 'cheating' concept is an interesting one to think about.
it definitely does not hone your synth skills in the traditional sense. that bothered me at first because i wanted to know Synplant, and unless you constantly delve into the DNA, you dont do a lot of real detailed tweaking.

so, id say that maybe for a total noob to synthesis, its maybe actually a bad idea to use it too much. you dont learn much, even about Synplant, oddly.

But!
the real goal, for me, is sound. i dont care too much where it came from or if i had to strive to get it.. as long as it sounds exactly the way i want. not everyone is like that. some people really want to master synthesis the way someone would master playing the guitar. master the art, not the product.
thats cool, and im into that a little, but i wont sonically shoot myself in the foot for it, or waste project time for it.

what it comes down to is that Synplant can (somehow) give you the sound you want, in surprisingly few go 'rounds. keep driving towards what you want, and Synplant will figure it out, and give you options. there is a bit 'unknown' to the process, but like i say, its about results.

Excellent and innovative synth worth investing time to explore its possibilities. Needs host tempo sync implemented however.
More than worth the money imho. Fun to play with.
