That certainly is a feature they need to consider, i created (or generated) a great sound on it the other day. stupidly i created the sound without playing it to the track every now and then so i had no idea that it wasn't going to sync. so at last i decided to incorporate my new sound into the track, i'd spent the best part of 30 mins tweaking it and the bloody thing didn't sync, i had no idea... i got that feeling of failure.

. but yea, adding tempo sync and tweaking the genetic features and i think it would be bang on

Aha.. they must have renamed that Salvia patch then

In the video it doesn't have the NE prefix

Alright well the synth is on my wish list.. if there's a sale I'll jump on it.. can't justify buying a synth right now (unemployed) and already own many good ones, but I really like this one... I don't know how to make my own synth patches ( and don't really have a desire to)and this is just my kind of thing..

on the bbc interview/program about Brian Eno the ohter day he was expressing his love for Synplant. that's a pretty cool endorsement.

i still don't know how I feel about the plugin yet. it annoys me a lot sometimes and i think it's cheap and gimmicky and sometimes I think it could be really useful.

i must admit that's pretty much how i feel about it. when i first tried it out i thought it was the bees knees but... then i started stripping away the effects and such and heard how average it sounds. but then it does offer some very unique synthesis methods that could be very useful and inspirational for composing. i just don't know!!! there was a point when i was ready to pony up but then i suddenly realised that only the front panel parameters were automatable...

the price is about right though as it is a little gimmicky and limited in use. i don't think it is worth more particularly

Agreed. As cool and intuitive as the interface is, the sound engine just doesn't seem particularly powerful. I'll use it to fiddle around and create a sound (very quickly) then go: "Hmm... that sounds pretty reedy and weak. I'll use Zebra to make that sound instead." I use it more as audio sketchbook rather than a synth in itself.

I've heard several people say it can sound rich, but I've yet to hear a patch that lives up to this description.

So, for me, the one thing I wish they'd upgrade is the sound engine.

IMHO of course. We all spend too long arguing the toss over sounds rather than music. Each to his own, eh?
